    How did it come to this "listen to my ignorant opinion" thread? My family and myself were hit by examples given in this thread and we were on government support for 6 months and got out of it taking crappy jobs and just recently got back into our original fields with another job. Not everyone abuses systems. That's why you shouldn't halt them over just a few bad seeds that say and do exactly what it takes to stay on a support system.

    There are several complicated situations that are personal and embarrassing to some people where they don't want to mention they are on support and would just like to work like everyone else. This is probably why you hear more people speaking aloud about their support because they have no shame in it and actually use it in the wrong way.

    Generalizing these kinds of people will get you in trouble though. It makes you look incredibly ignorant. Which you've already accomplished.
