I fully expect shitastic stats on AF gear, stuff like dex+10 on pld hands, block value+15 on PLD head, hp+20 mp+20 on PLD body etc etc. I also expect it to be unmeldable (no materia!).

if you remember jobs and classes will have different roles in party and solo so ifrit/mog weapons and job weapons will BOTH have their place

Artifact Armor is being implemented in Patch 1.21 not weapons.
