Benefits to maxing out Grand Company's

I've noticed that most of the rewards so far have been a little underwhelming for ranking up in the Maelstrom, primarily just being decent items to level other classes with.

Just so I have some motivation to keep going with them, are there any benefits for higher level characters (60+) to keep going with these?

Hmmm besides having options if your doing endgame, achievements, it really depends on you to decide. People who are more flexible in their roles make better members in FC's. Example if leveling you can do a tank rotation party and skip plenty of queue wait times.

I don't think this is quite the thread you were looking for, friend. I was asking if there was any incentive to max out Grand Company ranks (Maelstrom, Serpent, Flames). Though I do appreciate the advice on being flexible when it comes to roles

OH I'm sorry rank help you get more item accessed based on rank when you trade in company seals and access to squadrons. In the past you needed to be a specific rank to go trough MQ, so not sure how it will be effected in the future. Does not hurt to be maxed out if your doing content anyways.

And what exactly are the benefits to doing those? The squadrons, I mean.

The benefit to leveling up your squadrons is for getting the scrolls from missions.

There are scrolls for exp, mgp scroll, spiritbonding, and extending food duration (great for endgame raiders!)

The reminds me, I still need to get mine for this week!

For the most you party solo raise jobs without going into queue up to certain dungeons, depending on what they are doing you can get different rewards based on their traits. Here are two articles that give some context on how they work. If your doing relics you can go in and use some dungeons to farm lights as well or run dungeons. You can raise and choose their style of combat as well. The AI is actually above average if I had to compare it to players.

Is it as extensively programmable as the Gambit system from FF12?

Sadly, no. The AI just has three "buttons" you can click. Attack, Stop, and Limit Break. Though, I've never had the "stop" successfully stop them from attached the mobs so that I could pull more(when I go as tank).

Attack really just tells them to focus on the one you are wanting dead first....sometimes it works well, sometimes not so well.

That's a pity. That was one of the few things I enjoyed about the combat in FF12. I could program the allies to adjust themselves to my play style on the character I played as primarily. Oh well. I'll definitely look into it once I finish out the MSQ, though. Thanks for all the answers, everyone.
