Yoshi-P's explanation for PvE changes to movement cancel is weak. What would be the difference between kiting a mob, or sleep/nuke/bind/nuke/gravity/nuke/sleep strategy?

It's the same thing in essence, you are preventing yourself from being hit. So If I do this strategy to a player in PvP, is SE gonna gimp Bind/Sleep/Gravity? Because it causes players not to hit me?

That entire post that yoshi posted about Movement cancel boils down to PvP changes only.

No not really. With bind and sleep, once you hit them, they can move again but you can't keep running from them without stopping. You also have a recast time.

With what we have now, constant running AND stun/bind/gravity/sleep. That's broken imo

My only concern is how often I notice I'm running and casting cure and if I couldn't we would be screwed in Ifrit or moogle D: I hope they adjust things or not being able to move might reeeally suck.

@Shanoa they've already said that it will interrupt immediately when you move instead of making you wait the entire cast time. They must have gotten it to respond pretty snappily since they said that would be the only case where they would implement it pre-2.0.

I also hated cancelling spells in FF11 but having the spells stop immediately so you can reposition and begin casting again quickly makes this proposed interruption thing not bad at all IMO.

@ Aysun: You just have to practice and time your Cures better. I've been getting used to this by not moving when I cast in Ifrit to get a feel for how it would probably be and it's really not that bad. You have more time than you might think you have after running from an eruption and if you really need to throw out a cure Resonance range is ridiculous and you can use it to heal the tank if they absolutely need a Cure while you are running.

    THIS.

And half the time eruptions are being casted, he's not damaging the tank, only with his self aoe fart move. You just have to learn this way to run in a circle instead of straight back everytime if you get eruption under you.

The only big spell this effects in Ifrit is raise, when a lancer is trying to avoid stuff. Moogle is another story, but that's gonna take some practice

There are other ways to go around these things. People are going to figure them out and get used to them. It's not that bad of a problem.

Plus like everyone else said, it makes more sense this way. And it gives way to people actually using debuffs. Instead of casting and running at the same time, now you have to throw in a sleep to sleep them or pray that your thundara will stun them while you stay stationary to gain mp back. People aren't looking into the future and just focusing on content that already exists and how they have to change their habits and work around this new system.
i was actualy thinking from a thm stand point. and if you have intant spell cast interupt that means you can non stop cast and not worry about animation lock

also im not sure if you noticed i wrote will make easier, not harder

That's fine and all but I don't see WHY it would be boring? Why would you move anyways? Your just stopping yourself from gaining mp back. So you are only hurting yourself if you are moving

as a thm i like to start casting while im running back from cracks. i find it makes repeating the same 2 spells over and over more interesting.

or maybe i just have full mp at that moment.

Oh well, all I can say is get used to it. You don't have to run and cast thunder at the same time. That's what the instant cast spells are for. You don't HAVE to combo. That's all I can say.
