Future Primals and potential implementation into lore.

With two, potentially three expansions left, and at least one of these taking us to Garlemald and some point, what possible Primals could we end up seeing?

I've done a little brainstorming, but I'd like to see what other people think.




Asura
Most likely to be included in Stormblood due to middle-eastern origins. Likely not a Beast tribe primal, but something created by Ala Mhigans like Thordan or Shinryu. Alternatively could be in a later expansion in Thavnair?

New beast tribe perhaps? But then we already have two bird themed beast tribes so… maybe Mamool Ja primal?

Ragnarok
A weapon again, similar to Odin’s Zantetsuken?
Perhaps the same quest chain expands to introduce this.

Unless this has been used as an enemy that I’m not aware of??? Likely primal of a future beast tribe.

Hades
Beats me???

Mamool Ja primal?

Eden
A possible Sharlayan primal? Either created accidentally, or by some shadowy branch of Sharlayan, because we know they’re not all good.
Could be a result of Sharlayan’s having ‘too much faith’ in their own establishment, and so the entire complex known as ‘Eden’ comes to life similar to Alexander.

Ark
Potentially an accidental Garlean primal. With so much ‘faith’ put into their latest magitek battleship, it gains sentience.
Could lead to an Eden vs. Ark scenario if Eden as laid out above ends up being some kind of ‘shelter’ from a garlean attack.

I could potentially see a scenario where the Garleans seek to attack Sharlayan directly, leading to the Sages of Sharlayan splintering between those who must abide by their philosophy of peace, and those who would seek to summon a primal to defend themselves, because of course pacifism means nothing if you’re all dead.

Magus Sisters
Would these still be ‘bug’ themed primals? Or could they be magitek supersoldiers in an Ilsabard expansion?

I’m anticipating a later raid or even full expansion that references FFIV and takes us to the moon. Will these be primals or just bosses?

Since diabolos became a high voidsent some might end up becoming voidsents in the future, Hades is a possible candidate in my opinion

Kujata is already in FFXIV - he's just a regular bison mob that shows up as the overarching antagonist of the MRD class quests that is terrorizing La Noscea (the level 30 MRD class fight specifically requires you to finally kill it for good). So yeah, it's just a regular monster.

And Ark is also in the game already too, as 'Cruise Chaser' (which was a clever reference to FFIX-Ark's original design origin - it was based on a mech from an ancient Square game on the PC called Cruise Chaser Blassty (in FFXIV Ark shows up as a boss in Alexander-Midas ~ Heart of the Creator, thus linking it with a Primal already (but not specifically a Primal itself).

And I don't see Ragnarok appearing as a Primal, on account of the Allagan Empire Internment Hulks are actually starships of the Ragnarok-class (referencing FFVIII's airship of the same name). Not to mention the weapon shows up in FFXIV as a relic weapon too (the relic weapon zeta great axe for WAR). All the other choices are possible though.

Madeen/Maduin 'cause it'd be cool or something really esoteric like Seraph, Quetzalli, Remora, or Quetzalcoatl. They could also throw a curveball and use Anima.

As a magitek primals would be cool, perhaps they could be created as the first artificial primal?

I don't think Anima would be used as a Primal. We've got an entire weapon line (HW relics) named after it. The Weapons have an artificial spirit (called an anima) living in them by the end.

Now Doomtrain... heh... that would be the perfect primal for the Garleans to summon (on accident or on purpose).

I want to fight terato.... the giant snake summon from 6... earthquakes and all... also lich, maduin, tritoch, pallidor... could be interesting...

I would love to see Madeen added into the game. Lakshmi was a nice touch, but we need more female beast-like primals. She can even be the primal for the Mombas from 8.

Also Madeen and Maduin aren't the same summon. They have different names, and I don't just mean in English, they are different in Japanese too. Plus Madeen is a female lion with wings and Maduin is a humanoid demon with horns. They might of started out as the same concept, but are different now.

And I say Madeen over Maduin cause, one, more female primals, and two, Maduins concept of played out.
