    Suggestion: Experience Cards

    Hello!
While playing, i remembered a reward from quests on an old game I played: Experience cards.
Due to the multi-classes of the game, it would be very helpful, specially for leveling side-classes if quests and levemets rewarded players with untradable experience cards.
One of the biggest hassles is just how boring it is to level additional roles to a character. With this, we would be able to farm experience from your main class to your seconds. It would encourage people to level less-played classes, like healers and tanks.
It would be great if we had 2-3 categories of experience cards:
War and Magic, Hand & Land.
Quests and leves related to each category would reward their specific experience cards.
In my old game, experience cards were also level-ranged. So some cards, per example would give 200 exp points and only be usable for above-level-10 characters/classes. 5000 exp points, only for above-level-30 and so on. This would keep a person from insta-levelling a class.

although a nice idea, i don't think it would be feasible in FFXIV.
there are ways to level really fast without much time invesment - it is called POTD.
Boring? - yes, repetitive? - yes, annoying? - gosh yes.... but effective.
with the incoming patch and the new deep dungeon, there is just no need for this.

Also, exp cards take away the opportunity to learn your class, and with that you get people at high levels, that do not know how to perform even at average level. (i think I know the game you are talking about, and that was a huge problem there).

+ SE is trying to sell level boosts. so them implementing exp cards, would infringe on that business model, so there is that also....

its always been my opinion that if you want to level a class without learning how to play that class as you level, then you shouldn't. play the game. it's not going anywhere.

Speak for yourself, It's not boring to level a character and not to mention that's how I learn to master that class/job. There are numerous ways to enjoy activities in this game, even repeatable activities. Matter of perspective.

The level skip items on the Mogstation kind of serve that purpose already anyway (it should be noted FFXI had consumable items that granted exp when used, exactly like what the OP is wanting, but that was kind of necessary given how traditionally hard it was to level in that game until recently). As FFXIV practically throws exp at you already anyway it makes such things rather moot.

As others have stated, it's not that hard to level alt classes or Jobs, and the way the game is now, there is no actual requirement even to level a new class or Job if you don't want to (other than story and it's content to do).

Many do it to make themselves more versatile when endgaming (in that they can fill a needed niche in a party if necessary), as well as for completion's sake, but as the only gameplay reason needed to level other classes has been abolished (the old cross-class ability system was replaced by role-abilities that are automatically learned by any class in that role), there is nothing stopping you just sticking with one class if you so desire and not touching anything else.

I myself haven't even touched any of the gathering classes and barely levelled one or two crafting classes (I just find crating and gathering boring). Play how you want to play, and do things that interest you. Don't feel you have to follow the sheep in this regard if you do not wish to. If that means only having one class at 70, then that is perfectly fine (and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!).
