I suppose if I got in that heavy I would probably stick with my AST. But honestly I'm fine with being casual, and since I only have two days for the foreseeable future to play (as I'm trying to cert up and change careers, how is that for a RL 'job change'?) I know that casual is probably what I should be going for. Hell i'm having to take a break next month to move alone.

It just irks me so much that everyone is seemingly stuck on this 'hardcore' mentality. I literally just got lectured, again, on proper card use in a dungeon by someone I am going to assume was leveling an alt. As his demanding the balance card for his MCH that barely qualified for the dungeon over the full geared dragoon was....silly. At least in my eyes. Again...maybe i'm just an old hag in her thirties but....what happened to just playing for FUN?

A few people have commented on tcj. Tcj usage is fight dependant and is explained better in the balance discord. Basically some fights will be tcj doton on opener, others will be bhava on opener and using tcj as your second gauge move to set up your second trick attack.

Guage should always be used and not over capped. The only example of when you can slightly is to set up a TA but if you're holding it for too long it's not worth it.

    Also dw I'm ps4 too ^^

Yeah sorry when I hear endgame I assume raiding hence my earlier responses and points. I got into it because I had the time and was finding dngs etc just weren't enough for me anymore. But bottom line just play whatever you want and as you say have fun.

Anyone that complains about perfect job play in dngs etc are moronic..... most of the time the difference in completion time is minimal and it's supposed to just be fun, I don't drag my raid stuff into roulettes, that's why I have a static for raids, we all have fun still but know what to expect from each other. Randoms are randoms, everyone has thier own idea of fun, game objective, etc but I agreed that a weird number of people expect everyone to play to thier level in "casual" content. Unless the group is straight up failing there's little reason for anyone to get upset over suboptimal play.

Also lol yeah people are weirdly obsessed with the whole "but I deserved the balance card" <.<

My earlier responses were just based off of savage ninja, wanted to express how it is in there so you didn't invest in something to find later you decide to raid and hate how it is in there

    Fixed that for you.

balance discord is the (new) hangout of the ff14 theorycrafter community... you find channels for every specific cls and the opportunity for live discussions – current guides/faqs all come from balance lately; its kinda used like an interactive reddit-com -you can call it the new age eorzea wiki ^^

    This doesn't seem right.

Using Ten>Chi>Jin means that you're using a total potency of 780 prior to executing a Trick Attack, using Jin>Ten>Chi is a total potency of 850. Add onto that by not using Ten>Chi>Jin to set up trick attack you get to add another 600 potency attack to your Trick Attack window.

Explain where I’m wrong, then. The total potency of Fuma, Raiton, and Suiton is 780 and uses up your ninki.

The total potency of Fuma, Katon, and all the ticks of Doton is 850. Additionally by having 80 ninki after using trick attack, you’re able to execute Bhavacakra (600 potency) under the damage increase caused by trick attack.

If I am missing something, I’d love to know so I can play better, but from where I stand, using TenChiJin to execute Trick Attack seems a potency loss.
