I'm a very casual leveler(that's my choice/fault I know) While, I get on and help people and do other things, he is able to get a bonus for when he gets on, levels up even faster now. The fact that one gets a bonus for being offline is detrimental. What's detrimental to me is different than the next guy. So you may not think so, but I do. As I said in my other post Guardians aspect is not a factor anymore, its all about the end exp. Also Guardians aspect can be used by everyone, not just a select few.
1) Your focus, clearly, is not about leveling, or else you would have done it. As such, why do you care what bonuses people may or may not get for playing or not playing?
2) Your friend is more efficient with his time spent online than you, as most people with time constraints need to be. Saying, "See, he has multiple 50s, there's no reason for bonus exp!" is a fallacious argument, as that argument was never once in question. The argument being made is bonus exp providing an extra incentive for those who may not constantly play to continue playing being good/bad for the game as a whole...which you still haven't actually proven beyond, "Well, I don't like it."
3) If bonus exp works in any way like it does in other MMOs, the bonus accumulates the longer you're offline, so realistically, most people will only see a minor bonus threshold at best. (And it might even see less mileage, as this game revolves around the idea of doing everything on one character, whereas you can accrue rested exp on one character while playing another in other MMOs.)
4) Bonus exp can also be used by anyone that logs out at the selected Mog house. However, unlike Guardian Aspects, in which you can only use for a select few portions of the game, bonus exp will likely be usable for any aspect of the game that allows exp gain, which is a win for anyone that ever logs out and ever levels anything.

If you play all the time, this change will not affect you in the slightest. If you don't play all the time, this change will be a bonus in convenience (less menus to go through and one less inane 'resource' to track) while adding an incentive to actually log back in after not playing for a lengthy period of time.
