Well, I think they wanted to give RoW an additional appeal besides the extra tackle. That players found away to use it in openers with TK because TKs niche use is still a thing is pretty much accidental.

expeting a slight nerf or some correction
RoW uses the same slot as Shoulder Tackle, though... Do you mean RoE?This. RoW is on my 2nd hotbar along with Tornado Kick, they're just too situational to be on my first hotbar. I don't have any more room to fit these on my first hotbar either. So switching back and forth between my hotbars, between my already faster GCD, is just a mess to deal with.
You can really tell this was unintentional because it plays like a HW job, frantically moving through your hotbars, when SB was an attempt to move away from this style of play. I'm just really hoping they know this is happening and have an answer for it.
No, I mean RoW. Or perhaps Fists of Wind would be more accurate, you need to activate that first to get to Riddle of Wind, and that's on my second hotbar. Fumbling between those mid rotation is not a fun time.
Tbh, the DPS increase from doing this isnt even worth it for the most part. Not only do you disrupt the entire flow of monk, you need to make sure none of your buffs/debuffs on bosses fall off, otherwise it's actually a DPS loss. On top of extra double weaving, for around an extra 40 DPS, which is also completely negated with decent chakra RNG. There are so many more cons than pros for such little gain that is honestly not even worth attempting for the average player. This should only be tried by people who are bored of the same old rotation, and know Monk and fights like the back of they're hand, and want something to strive for. There is really no problem with this as the TC is trying to propose...it's such a small reward for so much effort that you could do the ROW rotation and you probably wouldn't even notice. This is just a tiny DPS gain for players that want to push the job to the limit, nothing wrong with that.
TLDR, it's not a big deal, it's a tiny DPS increase for a lot of effort, which is also nullified by decent rng. You wouldn't notice someone doing this or not
*It's not a big deal. Don't know what's going on with the forums, but this is butchering my typing for whatever reason lol
This seems to be a common misconception towards the new Tornado Kick usage.
Let me just say that while you can indeed reach a very decent dps without ever using Tornado Kick, the DPS increase from doing this correctly is around 200-300dps. This is not a small increase and its definitely worth doing in 8 man's where buffs are constantly going out and the damage from Tornado Kick inflates to ridiculous levels (I once had a 36k Direct Crit from TK and I'm just Ilv 359).

Using tornado kick when you know for sure sure you are going to lose it is probably around that 200-300dps increase. While using tornado kick with row/pb, is definitely nowhere near that. People have done the math and have proven it is a miniscule gain, that isn't even a gain dependant on rng. Please stop making this sound like this is a huge gamechanger when it really isn't.
These guides have constantly been proven wrong by the very same people that made them. The guides simply discourage the use of TK because how much of a DPS loss it could be if done wrong, but in the Balance discord the same guide writers actively tell high still level Mnk players to use TK.https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...nt_tk_edition/

You will never get 200-300 DPS using TK as an "ender". You're forced to lose greased lightning like twice in each fight, if that.
You could also simply check FFlogs and see for yourself how much more DPS the people using TK 6-8 times in a fight are getting compared to those who aren't.
