Question on Guaranteed Dungeon loot (level 61-69 dungeons)

I had thought with Stormblood that these new dungeons were always guaranteed to drop some piece of loot you could use, if there was still anything left in the loot table.

So I'm leveling alts now through Stormblood... (I like playing more than one race - sorry for those of you that HATE anyone with an alt, but I have them).

Got my Elezen and my Hyur to Ruby Tide over the last 2 days, and both have obtained every piece of gear for their job in that dungeon except for the weapon. The Elezen has been 2 times after this and on these last two drops - gotten an earing that she was currently wearing.

Is the 'guaranteed loot' not applicable to weapon drops?

From what I remember, the weapons are excluded from the guaranteed loot rules. Not sure exactly why they decided to do it that way, but it is set to everything except weapon is eligible for that.

Thanks... I guess I jus have to keep that place in permanent queue until I get lucky. For my Au'Ra, the second to last time I went, she got the WHM staff, and it's been so long since I took my Mi'qote through I didn't remember.

The Mi'qote is a tank so I did a stack of runs of Ruby Tide a few days into Stormblood launch all in a marathon speed run and got glamours to fill out all 3 tank jobs - but I didn't recall if I had to farm the weapons or got them early on.

(On a side note... the glam for the Dragoon spear is so nice I might have to have my Hyur level that next just to be able to wear it... ).

Yeah, for some reason weapons are excluded even though those are incredibly important regardless of role.
