Everyones playing FFXIII-2?

You haven't even tried the game and you're complaining about it. Loyal fans of the franchise are in their 30s and 40s and FF brand desperately needs to attract new customers.

I tried the demo (I thought I said that?), sure it was an improvement over 13 but still not sold on it.

And sure I'll admit I'm not a marketing expert but don't people in their 20s-40s have money? In fact correct me if I'm wrong but I thought 18-35 was the highest making target audience for a lot of things? There was (maybe still is) a huge retro craze in the gaming industry for a reason.

And Idk why a younger generation of gamers would necessarily reject an older style of play, Dragon quest 9 was the exact same turn based battle system it's predecessors were and it broke records in sales. Heck the pokemon games are the same as they used to be too and the kids are all over it. You don't have to fix something that isn't broken.

I agree that the ff7 remake would be a disaster though, it was hironobu's concept and he was the producer, they would want to change to much and without him they would ruin it. If they did it like the FF1/2/4 remakes in hd where it's the exact same but with crisp graphics (maybe a bonus dungeon, never got the use submarine outside the continents) that would be fine I guess, would be cheap to make too.

Xiii-2 is fantastic, I would have just liked a different main cast other than Noel and Serah. Otherwise the gameplay is great and story is better than decent. Caius was a surprise great villain, one of the better in the series imho. Plenty of openness to the game, exploration, extra endings, plenty of side areas that are not needed to beat the game, side games,collectables and monster hunting etc (which is a lot of what its predecessor lacked).

Reason I didn't mind the main cast is because to be fair, XIII-2 was originally the XIII DLC storyline that was in the works lol.

I've been meh about buying it, I was so pumped at first then I find out you only play as Noel and Serah, so I'll chill and buy it later when they drop the price, and they add lightning as dlc (for those of you who don't know look it up, I'm still mad about it)

There is an upgrade later on too, to change the choco music to your choice between a few. I dont like the red choco music or the rap BUT the rest of the ost is pretty enjoyable. Hope's theme and one of the battle themes are addicting

Alternate Costume you get at the very start. Nothing special, unless hidden stats.
Bow-sword can be purchased for 400 gil at first shop in the game. Good stats, hidden haste effect.

Best Buy:
"The Story so far" 8-page booklet. This info is everywhere, including ingame and in strat guide, so this is kind of irrelevant.

Amazon:
Special Colliseum unlocked, with superboss "Omega Weapon" which, if defeated, can be used as a 3rd member in party. (NOTE: extremely difficult to kill before you are very, very high level. Can kill a level 99 commando Noel before 2 rounds have passed.)

About close to finishing the game. I will say, SE definitely satisfied my expectations in this sequel. Caius is a incredible villain and really well thought out, not your basic cookie cutter villain. I do believe ideas from XIII-2 should become a template on how to make FFXV a successful game.
