"Within each of us, the potential for great power waits to be released."

Not delighted about their work. They need to hire some creative People.

If I had to guess: Scouting - Healer - Range - Tank - Caster - Striking - Maiming
Either way, I only really care for the caster set. Some of it may look better if it dyes well. Alas, Skalla sets barely changed at all. So...
Not overly impressed, they did a fair job on the caster gear in keeping it to the original design. I was never interested in that to begin with anyhow; but awesome to those who like it.

The skirts look almost the same as every other piece of gear, but if I'm right on what goes with which classes, the striking & scouting pieces could be interesting. I like the sleeveless designs. I am curious as to whether the DRG is the far left, or the dude in front. I'd like the one in front to be striking (since I have a SAM and not a DRG), but I'm going to assume it's DRG since they tend to get the 'odd' bits like that half-cape he's got. Plus, the fiery horns. All of the helms had better have something toggle-able like that, I'm just sayin'.
Tank looks like a goth version of the paladin AF3.

Been looking forward to the caster gear ever since it was announced so I love it.
They didn't even attempt to translate the design onto the other pieces though.

Frankly, it looks really bad.
They took the original design which was slick and tight and just added a bunch of unnecessary and really sloppy changes.
The original design flows so nicely, you look at it and your eyes seamlessly flow through the whole thing which I guess is kind of a weird thing to say for a gear set in a video game but to me that just means it's appealing and easy on the eyes. It was simple and elegant.
The in-game version is just... eugh, I don't know what to say.
The pad on the waist was made bigger and there's a belt now, which just breaks the flow of the body piece completely and looks clunky as hell, I would have rather they remove everything below the waist if they couldn't make the original work. This change also makes the actual torso part look incredibly squished.
They changed the color scheme from black, white, gold and pink to brown, white, gold and red/orange... I mean I guess this one is up to preference but I vastly preferred the black and pink.
All of the allagan elements were replaced with generic metal armor, some things which were meant to be clean, slick and futuristic just look dented, rushed and not nearly as classy (look at the metal bits holding the cape)
They changed the awesome fur hood to... whatever that is? Some kind of fur collar...? I think no matter what you thought of the original piece that was one of the last things that should have been changed.
The skull-esque metal mask is now an actual skull and is more of a hat instead of, well, a mask, which looks incredibly awkward (this change baffles me the most because the original design of the head piece was reminiscent of some which were already in the game, particularly DRG AFs).
And that's just the caster set, I wouldn't even touch the other ones with a ten-foot pole, ESPECIALLY the tank one, what's Square's obsession with putting them in dresses?

Does anyone have an easy link to the winner this was based off? I remember the announcement but I can't find the actual post since it was some months back.

The coat looks okay...the head thingy though, ummmmm...not my taste.
