    Let Mounts fly & swim in the old ARR Areas.

    Diving underwater would be neat for old areas like Costa Del Sol, and I was always wanted to see Central Gridania from a higher perspective.

    I know it won't add much to the game, but for those who are looking to mess around with the old ARR areas with these different perspectives that it would breathe life into the areas a little more.

    They'd have to redesign the zones top to bottom also the zones are too small for flying.

    Where would we even swim apart from Costa?

    The ARR zones where not made for it. They would have to remodel and re code most of it and that cost too much. :/

    Not entirely.

    Flying is just a switch. They would need to add obstructions and zone boundaries so that you can't fly into/onto things that exist but you can't get to on foot.

    Swimming on the other hand in the game is two separate things, there is "floating on top" which is basically the game recognizing that you're standing in water deeper than your knees. Then there is "diving" which is an entire other map.

    They still have the V1.0 content somewhere, and the pre 1.0 content somewhere because they used it for the Red Mage promo artwork. So my guess is that they also still have intact versions of Gridania and Ul'dah that could be put back together and thus flying over the rings of Ul'dah city could be done. Limsa Lominsa is more vertical than horizontal, so making it whole again would probably require adding just a barricade to prevent flying or swimming out of the map. But Limsa Lominsa is exactly the kind of area where you would want Diving to exist. So that would call for an additional map.

    Most of Thanalan would become fly-over country, so they would need to make ravines impassable. The Black Shroud is mostly forest stuff, but there are at least two bodies of water that are on the map, plus there is water flowing through Gridania.

    The real monster would be changing the lake map around Mor Dhona. That entire map in V1.0 had an entire lake. The map we have only surrounds the top portion of the lake. So both flying and swimming would require restoring the entire map, or placing barricades around the lake to prevent actually going into it. This would probably be the one map that "no fly zone" would be required as the Keeper of the Lake dungeon is a larger scale than the map.

    Mount speed upgrades make most of those zones even more redundant anyway, and that's if high levels even bother going there. They're not going to change the entire zone just so people can visit there once or twice before they tire of it again.

    Only time I ever think this might be useful is when journeying around Mor Dhona. getting a quest in RT or at the little encampment that has you journey to the Imperial base is a journey and a half. THen again in Central highlands. Going rom Camp Dragonhead or the Observatorium to Whitebrim or Snowcloak...eugh. lol.

    The zones would have to be remodeled unfortunately. As an explorer who likes to go out of bounds, I have seen the areas are huge beyond the invisible walls, but immediately you see the flaws of the unfinished areas. They would have to remake all these zones so you don't see the incomplete areas.
