Multiple tokens, lol just 1 lol. You know like 10 for a chest, 5 for boots and so on. No different than the 7 tokens I got for the last boss for my weapon back when. After that, I never went again so it's the same.

Sigh I don’t know who at SE thought this was a good idea, but it must have been a ‘bring your bottle to work’ day. They should keep the loot rule as is. If people can’t play a class why should they be able to have a chance at the gear if someone needs it? For me, my online time has gone down and this would be useful gear . Now I’m going to have to wait in q, then possibly have to run a 60 min instance a few times against 7 others for a tank chest that I need? Nu way Hose A. What a shitty move by SE.
I actually think this is a great idea. I can now use the job I'm most proficient at and still roll for the gear I need. It will help everybody's experience in the raid if players brings their 370 ilevel job that they are good at instead of their 330 job with zero melds and suboptimal rotation. Besides, it's a game and you should play for fun. If you are whining about loot in a virtual game world then you might need to reexamine your life priorities.
I wouldn't worry too much. I can see now people are balking at the idea so it won't last long. That is SE's MO.

I will run it once a week and basically just greed anything for any job I have at or close to 70. If I get something, yay if not oh well, its not like gear has any real meaning anyway since I don't run savage content.

In my experience, even when these are brand new, more then half the loot hits the floor because no one wants it. The system doesnt do "smart loot", so youre still going to get runs where 6 of the 8 drops are for classes that no one brought(and potentially no one plays). At best therell be 1 or 2 pieces that im interested in for stats(the first week i hope that i dont forget about the lockout and "win" the first useless thing that drops just like i did the last 3 tiers), and ill mostly be running it to get my weekly token to upgrade the 360s i already bought. The glamour from the last set wasnt great, but if this one is better then ill have a couple more pieces to chase for that. Ill end up running it for tokens(and potentially minis) SO much more then for actual gear it isnt even funny. And to those still worried about how every single drop you want will be rolled against 7 others(it just wont happen), remember that you can que with friends. Every friend you bring is one less person who you have to roll against(and less chances for a rando who just sucks too).
Like I said… it’s a two way street. Beneficial for some, not so for others.
I’m not saying it’s a ‘good thing’, I’m saying it’s ‘not a completely bad thing’. Please tell me you understand the distinction there.
I completely understand and accept that others dislike this idea, and I’m still personally on the fence about it despite what I’ve just said.
(You say I sound 'Selfish', but as I've already explained, I run multiple classes, because I can fill in the gaps in my teams, I can adjust around other people. If I was 'being selfish', I could just run as the class I want to gear...)
Who exactly it’s beneficial for is largely unclear, for all you know you may end up benefiting from it. (maybe that uncertainty is the real issue?)
The problem is that most people here are only focusing on the negatives, proclaiming it’s “100% a bad thing” Which is apparent by the sort of hypothetical scenarios being proposed.
Things like “A Tank gets caster gear when he doesn’t need it.” The problem here is you don’t know the person playing that Tank doesn’t need it, that’s something you’re assuming, you’re projecting a distasteful persona on that hypothetical tank out of gamblers grief because you lost the roll on something you needed.
For all you know, ‘that tank’ has been running this raid dozens of times as a caster, waiting for that gear to drop and still didn’t get it, which is entirely possible even in the current system.
Ultimately the ‘Need’ option is a privilege that overrules the level playing field of ‘Greed’. A privilege that’s viewed as deserved, but a privilege nonetheless. It’s one that’s usually balanced in a Dungeon scenario, because the run-to-gear ratio is better and the party role distribution is more even. Chances are you don't have any gear competition, so all plays get exclusive rights to their own and equal chance of anything not covered by their party.
Raids don’t have an even role distribution, so it’s not as easy to play it as the class you’re trying to gear. Only 1 in 8 can be a tank, and with 5 DPS, there’s almost certainly competition there.
“But Tanks and Healers can queue faster for my caster gear!”
Well, so too can DPS roll on the Tank gear. It’s a level playing field.
It may even encourage a few more players to run as Tanks and Healers… and surely that’s ‘not a completely bad thing’?
Imagine you roll in on DF as a BLM and end up with say, four or even all five casters in your party. Meanwhile the Tank gets exclusive rights over any tank gear that drops, and just as good chances against any maiming, striking, scouting or aiming gear...
There are so many different scenarios that you can use to weigh up these positives and negatives, but ultimately 'Greed' is fair for all. Oversimplified, but still fair.

Id say we'd simply need an "need II" option so we can roll higher then pure "idc give me anything" greed for jobs actually played. Like i usually heal or tank on the 24ppl stuff but still some caster or aiming gear could be nice, i dont see why someone who doesnt play an job AT ALL should get gear for it - like an friend got the 370 Axe while only having leveled Pala back then - much to the displease for the WAR who did dps for once xD

I'm the same way but unfortunately some folks don't have the same mindset. For my part, I only roll need on gear I actually need and plan to use, and greed/pass everything else regardless of the class I'm using. But for every player that follows that philosophy, there's another that hits need simply because that button lights up.
This change may have more negative impact than positive, but I'm content to wait and see whether greed-only and a weekly lockout prove to be a better approach in practice.

You post kind of contradicts itself in a few areas. Understandable IMO because it's easy to have mixed feelings about how it will affect getting drops. The main problem is there are usually a few pieces more desirable than others, pieces that could be "upgrades" compared to even the 370 stuff due to secondary stat differences. (for example, BRD/MCH headpiece from Rab comes to mind since 340 gear had skill speed, it was basically considered BiS at 330) - so any pieces like this that are desirable will be the most difficult ones to get since you'll likely have most people rolling on them. That's where it really hurts that you can't go on that actual class to try and guarantee you get it if it drops (obviously still have to compete with duplicate jobs).
