SAM, RDM, and DRG have abilities that let you quickly evade attacks. Monk should get something similar for those hairy moments, like a cool backflip.

Does Riddle of Earth count? Because I believe they're counting Riddle of Earth
you can buy backflip in mogstation? not an evade but you know
Its not a very quick evade, you could hit it, stick your handling, fix your hair and you'll still take the damage after all that. Better for getting back in after dodging out.
I agree. I use mine on Dragoon all the time, and quite a bit on Samurai.
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - HAHA no that's sacred.
We really do need something like this. Why is it that the job that was supposed to be the fastest and most mobile is now the slowest and most clunky when it comes to maneuvering? Yet it still retains all of it's positionals while every other melee is getting them either removed or less punishing. Just so many weird design choices with Monk in SB.
I think their answer for this was supposed to be Tackle Mastery and Riddle of Wind, but we all saw how horribly that went over. At this point they should just replace Steel Peak with it and fold its damage onto Shoulder Tackle.
If the backflip operated just like dragoon's elusive jump to also dump agro, then I would be all for this. Otherwise I don't think it's really all that necessary for mobility.
Considering a disengage skill would more or less limit Shoulder tackle to be used after that disengage skill. I'd vote no. MNK is designed to be next to the target and this would "force" a disengagement when Riddle of Earth is supposed to "protect" MNK from the damage while letting them still go ham at the target.
I know the reality is very different, but this I why we shouldn't just let the band-aid solutions they gave us last time assuage the concerns on the class.
If you say so.
