So, here we are. The patch notes are here, and I honestly like it for the most part. There's just that one bit at the end. The "Optional Items"

It seems like you decided to completely ignore the feedback you've been receiving about the cash shop. Even more so because not only are the Eternal Bond items listed, but some new ones as well, like the Wind-Up Urianger.

At this point, I believe the absolute least we deserve is a response. Do you even care what we think?

These items are NOT OPTIONAL. They are essentially mandatory if you were, or are interested in that content. If you like minions, you're going to have to buy the minions. If you like mounts, you're going to have to buy the mount. If you like the idea of getting married in-game, you're going to have to buy the complete package otherwise you get a massively gutted experience.

Please. Give us a response.

I find that this scenario (image below) pretty accurately depicts how I feel about this. Square-Enix, you and Final Fantasy XIV are Anakin. I'm Obi Wan, and I imagine the rest of the people who agree with me are as well.

I loved this game. I wanted to play this game for years to come but it's really like you're trying to push me away. Laugh at me if you want, but it really does break my heart.

Well, since you aren't required to buy them to play I'd say they are in fact optional. I think those who feel the absolute need to purchase things from the cash shop are in the very extreme minority and also maybe need to think about their habits and choices in real life.

You aren't "required' to buy anything, technically. Whether they are optional or not is entirely subjective and dependent upon the person and what aspects of the game they enjoy.

No. Coils and EX primals are progression CONTENT, not fluff that makes no difference to your game if you have it or not. Apples to Oranges, my friend.

This quote, your subscription, and this game in its entirety are all optional. Hell even LIFE is optional, but that ain't the point people are trying to make. I don't really care about the cash shop, but if I see something I actually want, I'll grab it. It's not like $5 is going to kill me, as it is I only pay about $50 every 6 months to play this game vs $60 every time a new console game comes out. But if the cash shop ever gets something that requires you to do the current endgame content with, or any endgame content for that matter (endgame content being raids that offer highest tier equipment, not vanity) then I will have a problem with it, but I doubt that'll ever happen.

Yesh... I see it, sadly, and I see it clear... If 99% of the database would be like you and me in that sense, probably these things wouldn't be happening. but as long as there's at least one 20% or so supporting those things, we are only going to have more and more... Retainers seemed to be just the start.

While I don't mind, to be hoonest, to see certain mounts or minions there... Now... NOW DYES?!..... Oh my... The happiness to see that Ninja's nerf is not so much, and that my lolDRG finally has some buffs is... Frustrated by the optional items.
