The linearity and the walls have been in dungeons ever since the 2.4 patch with Snowcloak, Sastasha (Hard), and The Sunken Temple of Qarn (Hard).Most people would rather speed through the dungeons as quickly as possible and it's pretty telling that the developers aren't keen on that as literally all the level 70 dungeons have some kind of wall between pulls to keep you from pulling all the way to the first boss.
