^ this, that made crafters a vital part of the game early on. Also you could put material on some of that gear as well like Champions lance.

You started a new page, here's what you meant to quote
XD
Yes you will always have a schedule but the problem was it never changed.
Mon/thur- dynamis
tues/fri-Limbus/ein
wed- sky/sea
sat/sun- sky/sea/salvage
You had to stick to that 1 schedule and it never changed. You couldn't join a shout run for something or go in with friends or anything. The game forced you to stick to that one schedule and you had no freedom to do events as you wanted to but what the LS and game forced us to do. Wanted to do a random dynamis run? sorry you can't.
You can make content that's challenging and long lasting without have ridiculous time restrictions.
How? Make them have multiple paths ect. Like salvage did. Make them where you have to kill a certain amount of enemies in a certain time to pop a boss ect. change it up make it different everytime. not the same wait this many days before reenter.

Yeah, I am at a loss as to why all the gear that's the best now is just soooo easy to obtain. It cannot be that hard for them to make the old drops from the NMs used in other synths, or make new NMs for us to tackle and get drops for our gear.
I'm also a bit iffy on how quickly everything repops now. It's like instant gratification for everyone, but then a month later you wonder why you are so bored. They need to fix this quickly, and not cater so much for casual (they can be just fine with materia gear and the easily crafted stuff)
(On the topic of rentry into fights, I'd much rather it be something like 2-4 hours to re-enter. So you can't just breeze through it. I have a feeling it would have taken people a lot longer to figure out the strategies for these fights... Just make sure you put em near a stronghold or something so we can do something while we wait)
My goal is to get my Blue Mage Thread seen by Yoshida!
Support the thread and its idea! - http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/333552-FFXIV-Blue-Mage-Could-It-Work-I-think-it-can...-and-here-s-how%21
Remember! #bluemagexiv!
Sadly the newer generation wants everything handed to them. Take a look at moogle's when it 1st came out. You had to kill 5 NMs everytime you won. most people threw a fit and cried because of it. Now you can solo to get the drops.Yeah, I am at a loss as to why all the gear that's the best now is just soooo easy to obtain. We say we want hard content Se makes hard content the other side cries SE gimps it.
+1 OranGemeo and Xianghua.
I hate the constant referrel to FFXI, but that game is this one's predessor, so i'm going to do it again anyway.
A line in your post Xianghua remnded me of how famous XI was for introducing content that was REDICULOUSLY hard, and then rebalancing it (or not... Absolute Virtue, Pandemonium Warden...) later on. It seems here all we get is simple content, which gets 'rebalanced' anyway.
I have to say though, I read one comment from Yoshi-San that gave the impression he wasn't 100% happy about having to nerf the Moggle stone collection....NM.....system...thing yada yada that we originally had when talking about the AF weapons requiring some degree of challenge to aquire.
Fingers crossed that doesn't just mean another easy 15 minute fight, "complicated" with a 1% drop rate on its reward.

That wasn't hard, that was a timesink.
Yes and not saying it was hard. Even though to most Time=/= difficulty. When SE makes hard content(CoP when it 1st came out) people cried and SE gimped it. It may not be hard for you or me. but many consider it hard and want SE to gimp it. and they do.
Don't think you guys understand me really. I want actual hard content and long lasting content. I also want people to have the freedom to choose how much and when to do said events. If you are one of the people who want to blow through everything ASAP. Good for you have fun sitting in town being bored.

@Mog: True.
However the fact still remains that it does act as an illustration of how quickly people are taking negative stances against anything that seems to require effort, and more worryingly how rapidly The Dev Team responded and handed them Moggle pop items on a plate.
EDIT: Reply is to Mog. ..though I could have just said it in game I guess lol.
EDIT2: SE only nerfed CoP.... what... how many years after it came out? Not days or weeks like in this game currently.

I think we can all agree how easy Ifrit was. Yet go back and look at all the threads complaining about how hard it was and how many runs it took to get all the weapons ect. So SE added the totems and made them have a rare drop rate to. People are still complaining and SE is once again going to change how ifrit/moogle drop rates will be again.
Many people seem to hate time sinks and so far SE has been changing the game for them.
So sadly i have a hard time believing it will be any different in the future.![]()
