Ok if you think about it like that then a FF11 clone is doomed to fail. None of WoWs clones have anywhere the success of WoW few have gotten between 10% to 20% of WoW's subs and none for anywhere near the time. So if FF11 has 500,000 subs for the whole 9 years a clone would have between 50,000 to 100,000 sub for maybe 2 years.

If this is the best/easiest way to do this you know thats the way most ppl are gonna do it but you could just as easily not do it this way.

One should NOT be able to add 3/4/5 melds on one piece of gear (if you are even that lucky). I also believe that the stats for current materia are simply far too high. All of the rare/ex gear are not even in the same league as a basic piece of gear (besides the primal weapons) with one tier iv materia on it. Please nerf materia when you fix stats for 2.0

They need to make rare/ex better, and at LEAST allow one materia slot to be added on.
Let me start with yes we should be able to slot UN/UT equips up to 5 times and if it fails it give a reason to run content again. But if you dont make crafting essential then it becomes useless. Look at WoW, All the gear acquired from any battle content is better that anything crafted so no one crafts.
