Yes I agree completely. would be a great way to add it.
Well they are even making repairing dumbed down as well, even more so. They are going to make it(i think) that grade 5 dark matter can repair anything. It's almost like why bother now..... just take it out if your going to make it stupid.

Repair should of been removed as soon as they decided to make npc repair everything to 99%. The idea of the system is nice for immersion but the way the implemented it was rather stupid.
i agree with you, content should be hard enough to keep us busy for months, i havent got a few weapons from ifrit and i still do that just to have those gears, dont make the drop rate that crappy instead give difficult fights easy to wipe, and make those drops be worthy of our efforts, i wouldnt mind having low drop rates, but i want to have a challenge in every single content, leave crafted gear to the casuals (im casual semi hardcore) so crafted gear can give all good stats enough to do endgame content and rare/ex and AF's a lot better to have a long term goal.

Problem is that primals are challenging enough that a reward should be in demand. Not high, actually have a low drop rate, but weapons "need" to be passable. It is nothing rewarding with a CNJ who doesn't even have a GLA gets a sword they do not even want. It is a real kick in the ass. I am 130 kills on Ifrit, got 6/7 weapons on Ifrit except the weapon I wanted. I have killed Moogle 30 times, gotten absolutely nothing. I don't feel SE respects our efforts with this.
It should be....
Make pre-req's engaging and fun. > Fight Primal (Make the fight very hard yet not ridiculous.) > Make drop rate decent to low, but put weapons in a pool and everyone gets rewarded one item to go towards what they want.
It is such a simple concept, yet not being executed. I can't imagine why SE would believe this isn't a good idea.
Let's keep brainstorming good ideas!![]()

square should do like they did in FFXI avaters/primals you have items you can choose after you win then pick one and you can only get it once and you can win again for the next item.Problem is that primals are challenging enough that a reward should be in demand. so bored of reading things "they should make this thing like they did with FFXI ... "
GO TO PLAY FFXI , FFXI is a very old style game, FFXIV have to compete with brand new mmo like, SW , Tera, GW2 , and more, you can't use the same old and tedious mechanic of XI in this game... Idk why ppl that still loves XI complain.. go to play it no? And let the dev make a completely NEW and FRESH game unlike anyone else.
Some ppl want gear switch too lol.. this is one of the worst thing of xi (but it WAS ok for an old game.. ) it completely ruins the balance of the battles.. Equip should be studied before you engace a combat, every new mmo do this, and even Tanaka that build XIV a disastrous game understood this aspect in time (luckly ) .

Here is the problem. FFXI's style of gameplay is in no way outdated, and can transition to a newer MMO. Only some things here and there that would have to adjust to the new generation (ex. EXP reduction upon death.). We compare it to FFXI because the way this game is set up works more with FFXI's system than it does with other MMO's like WoW. While FFXIV can derive ideas from other MMO's, it best works with mechanics that FFXI practiced, and a lot of your players are FFXI vets and best compare with such. We don't want FFXI, we want it's success, we want a new world with a sense of familiarity.so bored of reading things "they should make this thing like they did with FFXI ... "

People came on expecting expecting SE to take what was good about FFXI and make it better in FFXIV. The exact opposite of that happened. When Blizzard releases Project Titan, do you honestly believe it won't derive from WoW's system? I am doubting it. It will take what was successful about WoW and transition it into that game. Know why? Because your main customer base will more than likely be WoW players.
Like I said before, transition of success and familiarity into a new world. Each FF has taken what was successful about the previous one and improved upon it. FF3 improved over FF1 by adding a Job system into the mix, but had your classic turn based system. FFVII improved over FFVI by going into the 3D world. Now let me ask, why can't FFXIV take what was succesful about FFXI and now put it into FFXIV? A lot of people fall under this ideology, and SE now understands that, slowly becoming what FFXI was able to create.
FFXIV will never succeed over games like WoW and SW:TOR, it isn't happening. SE even before the release of FFXIV said they were not looking to overthrow any popular MMO's, they simply wanted to stay within the competition. This meaning it is better to focus on your niche group while staying in the new generation at the same time. How does FFXIV succeed plan to succeed at the time? That is right, they built it from the ground up. They took no lessons from FFXI and made it from scratch, which granted it one of the worst major MMO titles ever released. Know why? Because the niche audience you were trying to please was pissed that the game was such in a horrible state and used almost no concepts from FFXI into their game. You pissed off your niche audience by a poor attempt to appeal to western customers.
The current team understands where their customers come from. They know now the best way to make FFXIV good is bringing over that transition of success from FFXI and actually improve it like everyone said it should of been done. From the looks of it, it is happening. They are bringing in a cross-server dungeon finder system, large scale PvP (improving over Ballista), making a stronger guild system, and so on.
I can explain all day, but we are done with FFXI. We put our time into it, a lot of us are ready to move on into the future. FFXIV is our future, and we know SE is better than what FFXIV originally was, which is another reason we want FFXI's concepts in here. We know it works for them.

well 90% of the MMO market is already a wow clone and they all failed do you really want another wow(a.k.a the endless instance grind)? look at swtor only thing that it has going is full voice quest & choices other than that its a pure wow clone next wave of mmo's are gonna be wow clones it never ends. hopfully SE sticks to the roots and not become another linear game.so bored of reading things "they should make this thing like they did with FFXI ... SW - wow clone
Tera - wow clone with boobies & korean grind fest
GW2 - solo like the first we'll find out? only reason GW1 is still alive is because its F2P.
