Any way to get items out of expired retainers?

All of my stuff is on auto-renew, so I'm not sure about whether or not you buy retainers in whatever chunk of time you have on your sub, or if it's by month. If it's by month, you don't have to wait until the end of your sub, just wait until 1-2 weeks before the month rolls over?

When you hire an extra retainer you pay for the amount of time left on your subscription. After that they will renew in the chunks of time as your subscription.
