Any way to get items out of expired retainers?

It might sound crazy, but consider deleting your other retainers. If you delete a retainer they'll all move up a slot so you can access them like that (i.e. if you have 4 retainers and delete retainer 2, then retainer 3 becomes the new retainer 2, retainer 4 becomes the new retainer 3).

It's far from perfect, but mentioning it as it might be an option for you.

I'd say it for two reasons:
1) To make more money for SE
2) To limit how many people have extra retainers.

A few players having some extra retainers - used or not - won't be a big deal as far as server space is concerned. Lots of players using extra retainers could be a problem for the servers.
SE have said in the past that most players do not pay for any extra retainers.

Soooo.... if everyone bought a retainer once and filled them with cheap 1 gil items and cancelled the subscription it would be bad?
Hmmm................... hmmmmm..... Interesting petition idea.

(Although realistically this may just end up with bad consequences like dropping a retainer sub = losing items, but I don't think people would let that fly)
