    Lag

So I'm not certain if there is a post regarding this issue, but for the past week (seemingly since the last maint on the 3rd) I have been experiencing some pretty terrible lag and I don't SEEM to be the only one either. There have been several instances that I've been in where others have echoed my issue with seeing lag and lag spikes in Eureka as well as other daily instances. Is this a known issue and is it being addressed?

Yes. This is a known issue to happen during prime time (7pm~11pm cst). Post up your tracerts information here in this thread. This will help bring to light more people having similar issues.

SE will try to figure out if this is your own problem. They will run you through steps for opening ports and clearing web browser caches.

In retrospect, since you state others are having similar issues, it is actually caused by Square Enix's server location since they path most of their internet traffic through a company called NTT. It's NTT's nodes that can't handle the traffic and induces lag and delay.

We apologize that these difficulties have been ongoing, and that we don’t have an immediate resolution to share. Although we have no direct control of the situation, we’ll continue to work with the upstream ISP to investigate whether there are any specific troubles that they can isolate and work towards a solution.
Square Enix is their customer. So there's nothing you can do about the lag.

Can you elaborate on the kind of issue you are having?

    Please provide:

    - Platform (PC, PS4, Mac)
    - the nature of the latency
    - Type of connection (wired or wireless)
    - Other programs running while the game is playing (if any)
    - Everything you have tried to resolve the issue

    Hope to be of assistance.

I've been getting a lot of lag in all areas

    Platform: PS4
Nature of Latency: the recieving info listed in game can go as high as 10000+, seems to be incoming data overload interferes with all actions
    Connection: Wired
    Other Programs running: none
Everything tried: Restart system, restart modem, turned off all devices not in use

    Thank you for your post.

The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with the game data. Most of the time, it results from certain security/privacy changes on PSN web browser. Please make sure that "Cookies" and "JavaScript" are ENABLED on the PSN Browser. This can be done by going to the web browser on the PS4, press the options button, then go to settings. The options for Cookies and Javascript will most likely be checked, uncheck them and then recheck them.

The fault may also lie with the "Date & Time" settings on your PlayStation 4. We would advise to please follow the provided steps to adjust your console's clock to assure it is accurate and up-to-date:
Close the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
Go to [SETTINGS] on your PS4.
Select [Date and Time], and "Set via Internet". (Please do not manually set the date and time.)
Once, the date and time settings have been updated, please restart your PlayStation 4 console.
Once your console has fully restarted, please start the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
Please make sure all other internet-enabled devices (including smartphones, laptop/desktop PCs, tablets, etc.) have been disabled and/or turned OFF to minimize game interference.

If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, then there is a communication error. (Not the same as a connection error.)
Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

    Hope to be of assistnace
