Again that's not it. But you are a bit mistaken. The first ever named WHM in the series was in FFII, a man named Minwu, Terra from FFVI, and to a degree Celes as well, are "RDMs", Celes is usually known as a Rune Knight, but Terra is referred to as a RDM in multiple promotional media. Quistis from FFVIII is well known for her Blue Magic, and Quina from IX might count, even though the sex is ambiguous; though the game tends to treat them more as a girl than boy.

And in regards to what this topic is referencing. The FFXIV RDM is a female miqo'te. The artwork, not the quest giver.

Going by that logic then rdm and blue are in a way a balanced between male and female cause the first rdm is a guy from ff2 not terra from ff6 and first blue mage is male from ff6 as well not quistis from ff8 and if you'll add quina from ff9 (who doesn't really have a clear gender) then might as well add kihmari a male ronso from ffx and he is blue mage and lancer, as for ffxiv the cover art doesn't really matter cause the trailers of the ffxiv shows male, in the benchmark trailer the rdm is miqo'te male there's also a cover art released for it illustration of rdm of miqo'te male and even blue mage person you meet to take blue quest from is male hyur, so yea from what i see i don't see those 2 as femlae jobs if anything i can see them as balanced between the 2 genders, but then again i get where you coming from so i said all i wanted to say so got nothing to say anymore.

thanks i think^^ yea lets move on i think lol, however forgot to mention one thing the first red mage wasn't of ff2 but actually ff1, the genders of ff1 may be not important but there is an artwork of the first rdm and he is male plus rdm in general fighting style is modeled after gentle(man) fencer etc so yea i can see rdm being class of both gendet bit I would lean more male like 51% male 49% female the ffxiv rdm is modeled after the first rdm of ff1, i wanted to write this in my before comment but ran out of postst

so yea i say they are balanced job for both genders but male has extra 1% the first rdm is male and the 2nd rdm mage again male but ofc that doesn't mean it's male job but again i think it fits more in male gatagory if i ever make one ofc not the one you currently made, i think we are done? hopefully i think, well anyhow what you said is correct ibjusr forgot to post these old comments befoe yours hopefully the topic ended now.

Threads are allowed to come back. It's silly to keep reinventing the wheel and starting the discussion from the beginning again just because the original topic is a few weeks/months old.

Male healer hmm let tell Urianger that he doesn't count as male healer you make him cry if he can cry seem he astrologian. let tell my female Paladin/Dark Knight that she isn't a tank sure she may kick your butt but make you feel better. here is issue you want have main character be what role look at your own character then they can be male or female they can tank or heal that is they option. ffxiv isn't about demand we make one gender over another be something it about allow player to play the hero have choice on what they character is look people need stop think this ideal is good one, we have option who the hero is for example my character fill many roles she tank she dps and she can heal if play a male this option would be same my character or your are hero of this ff game. the tag is right.

I have suggest since you get offend by male or female in a trailor let replace the main character with a Moogle this way you won't have worried about oh wait you may get offend by that too. or we have main character wear pig costume or moogle costume you won't know they gender then
