Parley and casual content

A lot of people are starting to hit 50 on everything now and spending a lot of time in town. Why not add a few tables for people to play Parley against one another? I imagine that adding chocobo races and such might be too hard with the current servers, but a few Parley tables, even if it has to be player vs NPC shouldn't be too hard, right?

To make it have mass appeal, some tables could allow for betting or our characters could automatically do certain emotes based on the topics brought up through the actual Parley, etc.

Just a random idea I'm putting out there to see if any dev.s happen to be passing through.

Post your suggestions for casual content or whatever else as well. Hopefully, if enough people have an interest in this sort of stuff, we might have something to pass the time when gathering for events in Ul'dah or when we have nothing to do.

it WAS confirmed by Yoshi a few months back that they would like to add a Gold Saucer type area later on.

Yeah, but it has to wait for 2.0, I imagine. A lot of content is "impossible" due to the current servers. I figure since Parley is already a part of the game, it would be reasonable.

Parley would be fun as a small pvp sort of thing to do, esp if you could place bets of gil or items/gear.

For this tho I think you would need to give it its own little corner in town to avoid the constant annoying /sh of ppl who want to gamble high numbers or gear. The casino /sh in xi where mind numbing and always caused my black list to grow

Card game?! Buy booster/starter packs from certain NPCs! Maybe even a chance of finding certain cards through killing mobs, fishing, etc

I like parlay but it's very obvious it would have been a lot more fun as a pvp mini game. I was always rather shocked that it wasn't. It would be a nice way to pass time between players or a goofy way of settling disputes.

And I believe the last official statement was that Yoshida wants to do it but the perfect idea hasn't come across his desk yet.

I didn't enjoy Chocobo Racing and Pancration in XI, do you know how I as a reasonable person responded to these side events I didn't enjoy? I didn't do them. Just that simple.

Its a good idea and it would be simple to have mini-game showdowns if you don't like it don't do it. Its only a matter of time until casinos pop up anyway since we have /random. So why then would people be knee-jerk over reactionaries over asking that it be made a mini-game for regular use?

If you didn't like it in the quests, that is another matter all together. Ask that it not be made a quest requirement, but then, its not like it was hard anyway.
