Probably, maybe. Maybe not? Apart from the recent botting uproar. I wouldn't pay SE anymore than my sub, with all the stuff going around in the game makes me wonder if they deserve even a cent from me now.

Yeah, there is always worse, but, for those who are saying such things, this 5th year of FFXIV is worse in many point than the first. Why? the first year didnt have any cash shop (except server change and other services that all sub MMORPG had). BUT the first year, the game was smaller than today. so... first FFXIV year was worse than now, and now is worse than first year...

I dont want to see if the poop i have is less smelling than others... I prefer to see if others are managing better food than mine, and try to beat them!

In order of "cruelty to their playerbase" EA is far worse than even the Korean companies. The next is Activision-Blizzard, who saw EA getting the entire industry potentially regulated because of their greed, and clawed back most of their lootbox-style microtransactions EXCEPT those on overwatch.

The Korean and Japanese game developers do not have the clout to pull the most egregious of P2W BS, and the Japanese developers certainly know this, but also know they have a more captive audience than WoW, Nexon or NCSoft do. Nobody is going to quit a "Final Fantasy" game to play some P2W garbage from Korea is their arrogance speaking.

Every time a P2W game is exported from Japan or Korea it falls on it's face here, again from developer arrogance. The only stuff that stays afloat are these social mobile games with P2W trash, and even then people just JB their Android phones and use the game's own microtransactions against itself. "Fine, I'll just give myself a billion smurfberries, oh look I finished the game in 5 minutes."


EA is shameless, and the developers of The Simpsons Tapped out lampshaded this a few times.

the matter is "how can SE be better" because, more time pass, more i think "how SE manage to go down and down"

i dont want to know why i could be happy to get this shitty thing because some other are doing worse. because i prefer watch examples that are BETTER
For example : BDO, Russian player can go on a server that need a subscription. BUT on these sub-server, you dont have to pay anything else, all cash shop stuff for other BDO (like europa/NA BDO) are in game... for free...
THIS is an example i would like SE to follow. i dont care anyone saying me "EA is far more worse"

If you want to say FFXIV is great, go watch where others are great and say "FFXIV is at the same level, or nearly same". Stop watching to some shit and say "hey, at least, we dont have this"
FFXIV is not a game for some kind of elit. it is a game, in many others. FFXIV cash shop is worst than many other cash shop. it is a fact. (and even worse than some you did speak... )

The person you are replying to does that all the time. I tried to explain to them, the reason you do not get replies at times (word use of "you" here is from my prospective talking to KisaiTenshi ), is because the post is so off tangent, people do not even know what to say.
(what is funny is their reply to that just repeated said mistake)

I can't tell for german and japanese section, but the french section is rather quiet right now. Probably because most of us are actually looking up the english forum, which is much more active.

Personally speaking, I do feel burn out with the game and half of me just want to quit. What's keeping me is my FC, statics and character. But if I look at it without emotion blinding me, I just have to admit that I spent less and less time IG, because I've got literally nothing to do. And I just know that 4.3 will just keep me busy for an afternoon or so before just getting back to the same old routine.

Honestly, I would be fine with the 10€ ($13 in the US I think?) emote, all the glamour and such put on the Mog Station. I would be fine with paying an additional monthly fee for more servant. And I even would be fine with the Companion App, actually. But it would only be fine as long as the money I spent on it was put back one way or another into the game to make new features or interesting things to do (And no, to me Eureka wasn't interesting. At all.).

But now we just get less and less content while it takes more and more time to give it : 4.2 was on january 29th and now they just announced 4.3 for late in may.


I just hope they are just busy working on a huge revamp for 5.0. If not, I might just quit like I did with WoW at the start of WoD.

In french forum, with different reason (banwave banwave) there isnt many left, and we nearly know, before reading, what each will say
Me and others will just say it is scandalous. others will admit and say "meh, not a tragedy, it is not game breaker" and one (that did a feverish defence of eureka in the english forum) will find all he can to say SE is great, we have to shut up.

But, we have a topic "money enix" that is 1 year old, was speaking about all this cash shop growing... i will make it revive a little, with this, and 1 or 2 other things.
But globally, french forum is dead

I paid for retainers back in the day...they have a bunch of my items but I cant get them out unless I repay for them, yet since I am on a 6monty sub, I would have to pay all 4 remaining months for both retainers at the same time to get my items back. I cant even just take them out, I am completely locked out of my items unless I throw money at them.

I'm not paying for any more "services", I already pay monthly and we get more glamour in the shop than ingame these days, and no new holiday glamour either. Just furniture. I don't have a house.
