I'm contemplating leaving 14 for good after this turn of events. Figured I'd at least offer one of my friends my house if I do go. Maybe an idea if you quit as well.I think it's time for me to take an extended break, perhaps leaving entirely, even if it means losing my house. I've been saying the same about their actions for a long time now, but hoped it wouldn't reach this point. It has. I've had enough of their greed. Only way to speak up is with my wallet, so that's what I'm doing. This on top of other details emerging from the LL has turned me off to this game in a big way.

History has proven to repeat itself many times with other developers and publishers. ESO, for example, started pushing how low quantity their updates could be while keeping the same price of said updates. We know have $15 updates that only include 2 dungeons. Don't get me started on how bad the cash shop is.We should say "We told you". Does anyone remember when some of us said -multiple times over the years- that they would keep trying to push the line further and further to see how far they can nickel and dime the playerbase? Yet we were called ignorants, and told that we were making a drama and exaggerating. Well, I guess that we can keep letting them put more F2P crap on top of a P2P sub while getting nothing in return (not to mention other "awesome" changes like moving from account wide cash shop stuff to it being single character... and not at a reduced price tag), neither proper improvements to the actual game or the infrastructure (server limitations here, database being in a shitty state from 2.0 there... huh, but if you pay more we can magically fix it for you... for a month). Perhaps once they sell "optional" quests and dungeons/raids, dungeon or raid tokens somewhere, loot and gil boosters, etc., the community will do something about this. But hey! It's optional, right?
Square-Enix are our buddies. They aren't obviously a business that will try to get as much money as possible, and go as far as customers let them go. /sarcasm
XIV is starting to go down a similar path. We'll see if it comes back to bite them in the butt or not.

That premium thing is a joke,you have to pay 12E a month,already,so +5 E for "premium" WOOOOOW
Okay what the hell here ? Is Square Enix SOOOOO greedy that they are combining the double subscription thing ? even optional, dude 17+E per month,to not even be able to get all function ? ( cause yeah, there is all the mogstation stuff, and the 5/6 more retainer you have to pay)
In one year its more than 200E in the game, and when you know the game get big update every 6month,its litteraly a scam at this point,
Its final fantasy 14,Not Eve Online or Albion, your caractere is not limited in weigh, you must not store stuff in every city.
And that friend chat in the app ? its not like the world is using discord or something already.
All that ressources they put in that useless app, couldent they use it for i dont know.... MORE CONTENT ? like everyone is asking since years, cause the game get 2 big update per years, and the rest of the time, people just afk in limsa, cause there is litteraly nothing to do.
I can see people already "put you're not forced to" Hey,im paying a subscription,im playing since 2.0,already more than 400E went in that game just of the sub,not even counting to buy the game every expansion, and you're telling me 400E is not enough ?
To conclude, that app is a scam that we did not need, his functiona re limited, apart from crafte who will need it to sell 24h/24h,everyone using discord to talk with people, they were better off adding more content or in 17month,do better than pulling a Fate farm again.

Square EAnix - We know how to nickle&dime fans.
Subscription fee 15$, another 15$ for all retainers and now 5$ pr MONTH for an APP?
And yet we see way more content in the Mogstation than in the game itself. What has happened guys? Did EA or Activision buy you up or something else greedy happen?
Well its sure not something I'll use. I don't carry my phone. Simply this, if I'm at home, I play on pc, if I go to a work function no phones allowed nor should there be. If I'm having dinner with friends, I'm not sitting there with a tiny phone screen in my face, I'm talking to them. If I'm driving, or riding with someone, no I'm not sticking that phone in my face. I'm starting to think that this game is moving in a direction that is not for me. I would love extra storage but I'm not paying any more for it than what my sub fee is, matter of principle not money, its not worth it to me.

Find it odd that they have always said that they can't give us more retainers or inventory space do to server limitations, and yet now the servers can magically handle it just fine but only if you pay $5 a month (and I doubt this money is going to upgrading the servers). At this point SE's greed is getting to the point that i may just stop playing their games since they can't help but try to milk their players for every last dollar while giving very little in return.

Look at FFXV, S-E sold half the game for $60! The other 50% will cost $120+ by the time they can be bothered to finish what they spent over a decade on already.Find it odd that they have always said that they can't give us more retainers or inventory space do to server limitations, and yet now the servers can magically handle it just fine but only if you pay $5 a month (and I doubt this money is going to upgrading the servers). At this point SE's greed is getting to the point that i may just stop playing their games since they can't help but try to milk their players for every last dollar while giving very little in return.
As for inventory in XIV, at this point "server limitations" are a blatent lie. Nothing more than a wet paper bag excuse to tack extra fees on our subs.
Happiness is manditory.
Not being happy is treason.
Treason is punishable by death.

The question is, can you just pay your sub and go on playing the game and pretend this thing doesn't exist?
Maybe, but I am wondering the effect the kupo nuts will have on the in game economy,

buying the coins is a no no for me.
