I doubt very many, cares if they give male bunny suit. It's the fact ratio of glam in this game is not even half-half. Females get more female only gear, way more than males. I'd like to see more male only gear, which would be cool. But god forbid it's a bad thing to want male exlusive gear more often, because then you suddenly are againt's the bunny outfit on men.
I see heels in both, so dunno what you on about. And explain to me why heels are very importent? I think the gear looks good.
And honestly I don't get the whole have a hole in front. Someone needs to deeply explain why that is such a importent thing on the gear, maybe I'm missing something.

I wish they'd stop doing male/female gear. They can still give two looks and just let us choose or something. I'm a big Highlander girl and I hate all this froofy stuff we've been getting. I'm jealous of a lot of the male gear that doesn't have flowers and has actual pants and cuts that look much better on me than the froofy nonsense they give most female gear.

This deconstruction isn't even accurate though. You went and cut off a good inch of his outer thigh.
And that's not even relevant to my main point. You cut the entire crotch out of a 3d model's pants, then cover it up with a little flap from what is technically a different piece of gear.
There's 3 possibilities:
- Show the dong for all to see
- include underwear
- don't cut the crotch out of the pants.
Only one of those solutions seems reasonable to me.

In the original artwork, the sensitive bits are covered as part of the top (at least from what I can tell). It's a leotard-like outfit and the bottom half on the legs is separate. Also, this game doesn't even have the concept of dongs- every male character, from the smallest potato to the biggest Roe, has Ken Doll anatomy. There's quite literally nothing to show even if someone wears the leotard part with the front flap fluttering in the wind. Check out the next dude in a tanga you pass by- there is nothing to see. Very last point, if you strip your character down to nothing (male or female) there will be neutral underwear to cover your character up. So there is pretty much no chance of SE accidentally showing ponos to unsuspecting children... they don't even have the thing modeled on any of the races. This deconstruction isn't even accurate though. So SE giving us bland pair of pants# 3452982 in the final product is either censorship, someone "fixing" the design because they had different ideas of what it should look like, or a concession to technical limitations. I will make the judgement when I see what the girls get, but right now I'm leaning towards SE's designers thinking "eww man legs GROSS I don't wanna do it" based on what we've seen in the past.

The dev team's apparent bias about making male glamours isn't new nor surprising. Ever since FFX, SE has shown that they place no real value in the male characters' appearances or to improve their sex appeal or design sexier glamour tailored to males. They are fixated (obsessed?) with females cause they seem to think that only sex sells games and cause they seem to think only a "certain variety of males" and females play this game. They make no effort to release sexy glamour for males. It's even stated that the male dev staff wasn't "comfortable" designing male bunny suits...the writing is on the wall. /shrugs
Protip: Hire a better designing staff, or make gender neutral gear/glamour. Not every male healer wants to wear a dress.

I drew with the line tool so its not going to be 100% accurate, and even if I had my tablet pen with me, anime and correct anatomy do not go hand in hand. I drew a breakdown to show you how the set is supposed to look like, not how its supposed to be broken down in the game. The different colors are supposed to make it easier to "break down" the set: The set is supposed to look like a hooded leotard with chaps worn over it. Due to how this games items slots work, it cannot work as a leotard, but when worn together you get the one piece + chaps appearance they were going for. This deconstruction isn't even accurate though. You went and cut off a good inch of his outer thigh.

I think its safe to assume the artist did not enter artwork with the intention of going dicks out and that SE did not select artwork with implied exposed dicks. To think otherwise is a bit silly and I honestly can't tell if you don't understand how chaps work or if you're willfully being obtuse.
to make this clearer:
the chestpiece is the hooded top down to the crotch flap (think the republican pvp caster gear)
the bottoms are chaps with a speedo built in (think male moonfaire set)

the vast majority of the heavy armor in this game is barely functional, and would be literally impossible to maneuver in the way characters in-game do -- especially the chestpieces. not to mention all the protrusions that would only serve as hazards for any of their nearby allies, as well as adding unnecessary bulk and weight. there are things in this game (and nearly every game) that are WAY more impractical and hazardous to the wearer than heels. thats the magic of a fantasy setting -- the suspension of disbelief.

I say make everything unisex, including the frilly dresses. That works for me as a girl with female characters, too. I'd love to dropkick the female version of crafting coatees and bottoms off the highest mountain in Ishgard, personally.

Went overboard trying to edit the original design onto the model. Take this with a grain of salt, as a lot of details in the image are blurry or obscured by lighting so it's hard to tell all of what was changed, so I might have unnecessarily edited things that haven't actually been changed or ignored things that have.
Overall I definitely prefer the allagan(?) features on the original design. I feel like the additions and changes to the new one make it look too similar thematically to a lot of other sets (the mask reminds me of a gold version of the fox mask that sits on your head, hood similar to poncho, etc) and variety is a nice thing to have.
I've absolutely loved the original design since the contest results were revealed and I'm pretty sad to see all the liberties taken on it. To make it ANOTHER design that is modeled to look less suggestive on male characters than female despite the designer's intentions would make it worse.
