I don't know about you, but I'm currently freaked out by the nondescript blob of flesh existing where his junk should be. If they made that design work on the right, they'd either have to expose the dude's junk (because you can look at angles other than what exist on the art on the left), or include the underwear model on this gear. Because one is impossible and the other is silly, they very reasonably opted to have normal pants.

This deconstruction isn't even accurate though. You went and cut off a good inch of his outer thigh.

And that's not even relevant to my main point. You cut the entire crotch out of a 3d model's pants, then cover it up with a little flap from what is technically a different piece of gear.
There's 3 possibilities:
- Show the dong for all to see
- include underwear
- don't cut the crotch out of the pants.

Only one of those solutions seems reasonable to me.

In the original artwork, the sensitive bits are covered as part of the top (at least from what I can tell). It's a leotard-like outfit and the bottom half on the legs is separate. Also, this game doesn't even have the concept of dongs- every male character, from the smallest potato to the biggest Roe, has Ken Doll anatomy. There's quite literally nothing to show even if someone wears the leotard part with the front flap fluttering in the wind. Check out the next dude in a tanga you pass by- there is nothing to see. Very last point, if you strip your character down to nothing (male or female) there will be neutral underwear to cover your character up. So there is pretty much no chance of SE accidentally showing ponos to unsuspecting children... they don't even have the thing modeled on any of the races.

So SE giving us bland pair of pants# 3452982 in the final product is either censorship, someone "fixing" the design because they had different ideas of what it should look like, or a concession to technical limitations. I will make the judgement when I see what the girls get, but right now I'm leaning towards SE's designers thinking "eww man legs GROSS I don't wanna do it" based on what we've seen in the past.

I drew with the line tool so its not going to be 100% accurate, and even if I had my tablet pen with me, anime and correct anatomy do not go hand in hand. I drew a breakdown to show you how the set is supposed to look like, not how its supposed to be broken down in the game. The different colors are supposed to make it easier to "break down" the set: The set is supposed to look like a hooded leotard with chaps worn over it. Due to how this games items slots work, it cannot work as a leotard, but when worn together you get the one piece + chaps appearance they were going for.


I think its safe to assume the artist did not enter artwork with the intention of going dicks out and that SE did not select artwork with implied exposed dicks. To think otherwise is a bit silly and I honestly can't tell if you don't understand how chaps work or if you're willfully being obtuse.

to make this clearer:
the chestpiece is the hooded top down to the crotch flap (think the republican pvp caster gear)
the bottoms are chaps with a speedo built in (think male moonfaire set)

FFS, People are really complaining about such a minor edit? The outfit is very close to the concept art.

Don't wear the pants and put on a swim thong if you really need more skin.

I think op is making a mountain out of a molehill. Personally I wonder how many players actually want the male bunny suit, I certainly don’t... Truth to be told, I don’t see the point of the suit either.

Getting back to the “sexy” outfit, I don’t think it is so much that the devs are against “showing skin”, but rather how well the concept come together as a whole. To me, the idea of exposing parts of the inner thighs/crotch area as depicted in the original design just feel “off”...

also what happens when you wear the pants without the top? since the top is covering the exposed crotch area... so they have to put some underwar to the pants anyway, wich would cover that exposed crotch part.

I personally found it quite fitting, considering the overall design. It reminded me of a one-piece body/swimsuit, with the crotch cloth being redundant in terms of exposure and only there for style reasons.

Looking back at the original, I don't think it translated too well. Instead of the original block heels, they seem to have gone for thin ones. The high neck didn't quite make it either and the wide collar seems... off. Looks too wide to me, not emphasizing the original V-Cut design. The back wing part looks nicely done while standing and was likely the focus of the design team, but I kinda dread seeing it in action while moving, lul.

The body piece being problematic was kinda obvious. Since they intended to use it as standard loot somewhere, it was clear they'd separate it into legs and chest (they 'can' link multiple slots, as proven in items like the antecedent attire or the tincan armors of ARR). I'm curious how the back will look, since this is the first time I've seen a picture of the ingame rendition, but I wager it'll just be the usual baggy pants here.

Ah well! I'm just positively thrilled to see the female version now. If that has the crotch holes, I'll laugh. Hard.

I'm so tired of this game's insistence that only women can have sexy options. They're fine with stuffing me into robe after dress after skirt but god forbid I want to be cool and a bit steamy as a caster...
