    I'm deeply troubled

Ok I need to get this off my chest. For a while now I've felt that healer glamours have been neglected to what I call the "healer desu" motif. And my previous posts were met with various responses. However later on it became apparent that it wasn't just healers but all male characters that were being left in the dark.

What's troubling me the most about this is the actual responses from the devs and community reps. When asked about the male bunny outfits Yoshi P actually said the male devs were actually uncomfortable (I don't have a direct quote) with the male form so the delegated it to a group of women. I can't begin to tell you how problematic this is. Its unprofessional and blatantly admits that the devs have a bias against male character glamours. to the point that they relegate employees who they think 'can handle' the male form. and it was SO low priority that it took several years to accomplish a promised product.

And when this is brought up in the forums we're given responses like these.

With that said, we do want to assure you that we’re preparing male-specific gear to be released in the future, so we hope you're looking forward to it!
This response tells us absolutely nothing. It only gives an empty promise that male gear will be released in the 'future' (an extremely broad term). Not only that but it fails to specify in what avenue the male gear will be released. Will it be craftable gear, dungeon, or cash shop? I have a feeling they're referring to cash shop items and if this is the case then it completely ignores the problem all together. Players shouldn't have to fork over a premium just to feel included in glamours.

All together I'm loosing faith in the communication between the players and staff. They've openly admitted to a dangerous bias that WILL cause conflicts of interest when it comes to what the fans want and devs staying in the comfort zone. It honestly feels like the Mercy nerfs in overwatch where blizzard simply ignored feed back and did what they wanted regardless of hundreds of posts. I don't want SE to become like this but their actions have made me loose faith.

...Japanese culture is known to be very conservative about a lot of things. It's not exactly fair to expect their views on certain things to match that of Western developers like Blizzard. Nor is it wrong. Just different cultures, expectations, and beliefs on certain topics. You say you lose faith in the devs, but similar posters seem to forget that there are a lot of differences between the Western and Eastern cultures. Heck, the Western culture has massive differences in itself alone.

So do you actually want the mini skirts and the basically panties with two metal tabs the ladies have gotten for the whm only gear on your guy? Just wondering. Healer/Cleric is the iconic look and always been a robe and the 1st ff whm was a guy. Orisen set came from XI and the main difference is the robe is slightly more dress like and the hat. 7th heaven at least guys get actual pants and no fan at the back of it that clips into weapons and long hair choices. I get wanting to have more male stuff but if you're main complaint is the jse then you're closing off a lot of shared gear from crafting, dungeons and tomes that you can use for glamour just have to play mix n match. I'm all for more male glamour and I do get the difficulties in glamouring certain races as some things look better on others. Like Au Ra and tattoo tops; most go over or run into the scales where it ruins the tat.

They really have a problem with sexy male gear.

Thanks for useless changes to a good outfit.

I got to see the male version of the Seventh Heaven gear the other day and I like it better. And ACTUAL PANTS as you say. Likewise for the Lv70 bard gear.

I still think it's a good outfit. Did the crotch edit really ruin the outfit for you?

    I mean... Come on.

FFS, People are really complaining about such a minor edit? The outfit is very close to the concept art.

Don't wear the pants and put on a swim thong if you really need more skin.

OMG I would be so mad at S.E If I was the creator of the outfit... The original one was so sexy with the hood and trousers open on the front... Now I really don't find it cool and... AND... Am I really seeing HEELS...? AGAIN...???? On MALE OUTFIT ...????? They're not "comfortable" with the "funny bunny outfit" but they are with robes and heels and high boots on male outfits again and again...

I think op is making a mountain out of a molehill. Personally I wonder how many players actually want the male bunny suit, I certainly don’t... Truth to be told, I don’t see the point of the suit either.

Getting back to the “sexy” outfit, I don’t think it is so much that the devs are against “showing skin”, but rather how well the concept come together as a whole. To me, the idea of exposing parts of the inner thighs/crotch area as depicted in the original design just feel “off”...

    Cheers,
    D.
