Hello,
Tried the following suggestions and I'll write out the output.
- Switch to DirectX 9 mode (select ‘Config’ from the launcher). Tried it. Made no difference, still crashes in dungeons (8 people dungeons like Praetorium, and in Raid Alliances, etc) altho when it crashes the error just says FFXIV.exe and a bunch of numbers.
- Perform a clean boot*. Tried it. Clean boot with all services disabled and all startup software disabled... Still get crashes in dungeons.
- Set compatibility mode to Windows 7/8**. Running Windows 7, so thats pretty much in compatibility mode all the time.
- Make sure that any anti-virus software they have has the appropriate exceptions. Disabled the AV for a week to try it out and it kept crashing.
- Install game on C drive (The same drive as the Operating System). Game is installed in C drive along with the OS in the c:/program files(86) folder where its set by default.
I'm not sure if the game is broken or what happened, because it was all working fine until the patch released a couple weeks ago... Then it started crashing for no reason. And now it doesn't even go into a crash error dialog box, it pretty much just dumps me back to the desktop and the game closes. Even if I do nothing other than just observe the screen without touching the mouse or the keyboard. D:
I also ran DX11 stress testing software and GPU stress testing software to see if that would crash my computer and it runs perfectly fine for hours even if I select the highest definition graphics. And my rig is not failing on other games like ESO and Skyrim.
So I'm at a loss rightnow... because once it starts crashing it won't stop, I can't even complete a dungeon without the game crashing on me constantly, so I'm missing the experience from bosses because of the lockouts...
I'm gonna try deleting and reinstalling the game now as a last resort.
