The world needs more sexy highlanders though. =)90% of male highlanders are clones so I'm probably a bit jaded by this, but I wouldn't care as long as they weren't doing anything malicious. Would I prefer it if people didn't copy my character/glamour, yes, but I'm also not going to let it get to me if they do nor will I stop them if they ask me directly. It's kind of a silly thing to get offended over, really.
considering feature customization is super limited and a lot of people wear the same clothes because they are doing the same endgame content, I'm not sure if the twin look is even intentional most of the time.

I mean.. I wouldn't appreciate it but if you could copy me by just looking at me good on you! I wish I could Fantasia and preview my glamours with it >____<, for this reason I don't even fantasia because I think I'd ruin myself.
On a side note I've twinned before

I wouldn't care one way or another, so good luck to them. Maybe they'll come up with something I'll copy later.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Um... lolwut? So my question is simple, what are your opinions on players wanting to use someone else's fantasia without asking?

I mean seriously... the character creation tool really doesn't have that many options in this game. The only part of it with good selection is the skin tone - and most of you folks seem to stick to the same narrow band there anyway...
But if you disregard skin tone, with the rest of tools people are going to be bound to copy each other unless they actively try not to... and even then some will be stuck with no option but to repeat what someone else is using...
So I find the entire question a bit absurd.
Striving for perfection is the path to one's downfall. 'Tis the paradox of the immaculate carrot. | Jah Bless. One God, One Aim, and One Destiny - Marcus Garvey.
Until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned, everywhere is war - Ras Tafari.
Never happened to me and personally I wouldn't be to bothered with it because I'm fabulous and if other people wanna copy and be fab then more power to em~

Personally, I don't care, but I can see it as rude if done intentionally without asking.
I had a funny moment where I changed my character's hair color and style after a year and half of playing and same day I bumped at a lala with exact same hair style, color and highlights. I found it amusing lol

I saw a mooncat with solid black eyes, I thought it looked much cooler than my own eye colour so I used my fantasia on it.
That's about the extent of my copying others I think.
lol, it's kind of odd thinking about it. I want people to think my character looks cool, but I don't want them to like it so much the try and copy me.

Character creation doesn’t have that many options so it’s bound to happen whether or not someone is intentionally doing it or not. Honestly, everyone who shares the same face and same general skin tone are already pretty close to being clones. You can’t really change facial features within a face preset enough to really make a unique face, and many skin tones probably come out looking about the same once you are in game and not directly comparing tones side by side in the CC.
I feel like I see many characters on a daily basis that look essentially the same. I say just go with whatever design makes you happy to play your character and don’t sweat it.
That said, while I don’t think it’s “wrong” to copy anyone’s look and personally wouldn’t care at all if I saw a clone of my character running around, I feel it would be kind of awkward to Fantasia into the look of a friend/someone you actually see and hang out with in game. If it’s a complete stranger you saw on the fly one day then whatever nothing to worry about.

inspiration is cool, I remember when HW was about to launch and the benchmark was up, I saw posts on how to make the Au Ra umbral ring more "attractive" for certain eye colors; I wasn't creative enough to realize the possibility of such so when I fantasia'd to Au Ra, I based the eye color on that idea.
some stories here about people who straight up tells you they had fantasia'd to look exactly like you is creepy IMHO. I know this is "just a video game" but given that it's an RPG and people do get attached to their character to a certain degree (personally I see it as an extension of my online self), it's like telling the other player you don't put value in self-identity. there is a reason why glamour plays a big part in this game.
apart from that, there's the age-old "poser scam" in MMOs where a new player would pretend to be an alt of another, and would ask to join the guild etc. then eventually this "alt" would have stolen people's stuff. I'd be wary if I know anyone like this.
