I respect your comment, but I can't help but feel your point of view may be skewed a little bit by being a citizen of a blessed server. The rural ones who don't get advertisement for newcomers or stayers by popular websites have a harder time maintaining social groups. The end result typically a sieve effect, where casual players slowly migrate out of the game for various personal reasons and only hardcore completionists are left behind. The problem with our population is that not enough new players are added in mass to balance out the sifting effect. So we always just end up, at the end of the day, with the same circle of players who've already "been there, done that" for the most part. Doesn't mean that every single active member on Trabia is already 50 in every class that they'd like to level, but it doesn't bode well for new players if it takes a solid week of trying to put together an actual party to be able to do so. There just isn't enough people to participate and maintain a healthy early content spread.

Granted, I'm not exactly sold on how level sync will work other than being a niche device of helping your friends out. In XI it was lovely because you had the motivation to continue to xp for merit points and expand your character more. This game lacks that, unless you count materia which is rather weak motivation in my book. You have to first have a lot of disposable gear to work with, and also the means of obtaining your goal is still better suited for a level 50ish party.

Whats all that got to do with the fact that someone was claiming everyone in the game had all classes to 50? That the only comment I was speaking out against. So, I am unclear why you believe server population has anything to do with some pressumtuous misconception that everyone has all classes to 50.

Level sync is horrible idea. Grinding a mob over and over is not my idea of a good time.

Well that's all we have at the moment, you can grind leves all day on the same mobs, or you can grind the same mobs at a camp.

The only way this will change is if hamlet defence offer some unique way to level up, I won't be holding my breath, its most likely going to be something akin to behest.

thats not what hes talking about

hes going back to grinding the same mob, literaly, from 1-50 which is what is bound to happen given level syncs

Honestly everything feels like it's a grind right now in this game. That's why i can't wait for them to add new content.... especially for the leves, it feels like they only got 4-5 leves for each 10 levels and you are grinding the same ones over on over for hundred of times while leveling all your classes. To make it worst, these 4-5 leves feel the same as most of them only have different mobs to fight but everything else is the same.

Well as jobs stand now you dont really learn your job until lvl 35ish anyway so by the time you hit around lvl 40 and start to pt you can pick up ur job fairly fast if you pay attn to your abilities.

In xi you start learning your job much earlier in the game and there is also the factor of skill gain (which i am so thankful to NOT have in xiv, some skills like smn magic and strings are painful to cap) so the pl in xi has hurt it much more than the pl in xiv. Lvl sync has its good and its bad points but did make it much easier to lvl the harder to find pts with jobs (eg thf pup cor)

I think there are 2 very good arguements on both sides of this topic. I have all jobs at 50 and only couple were pl'd (on top of that they werent even pl'd the whole way just random lvls here and there) the rest were done the hard way and frankly either or was good for me.

The one thind I did like about level sync in xi was the ability to take my brd in and pull MMM for ls mates to help the lvl up their jobs.

Ok..I'm familiar with level synch, it came after I left the game, but I know about it. What is book burning? That one escapes me..

Its a new system where there is a floating book, u take out a page which says something like "Kill 5 worms and 2 rabbits", you do that and get 1k exp bonus and 150 gil. The bonuses get greater as your lvl gets higher. They used to only allow this once a day but they have now changed it to it can be repeated indefinately. So ppl go to an area where the mobs are easy prey and spam them for the exp bonus. This method, along with abyssea burning allows you to go from 1-99 in about 1 day

ps ppl form alliances to do this so the kills are super fast, se even raised the respawn rates and mob amounts to make it easier and put these books in about 90% of areas so you never have to go without an exp reward
