I know it's not going to change your mind, and you're not going to change mine. This thread will stay on the top page for as long as i can keep it there .
Sorry to break it to you butFFXIV IS made of zones. The game is designed so you do not notice the transition. Devs have explained this more then once. I am unclear where the copy/paste ignorance comes from though. Thanalan, Black Shroud, La Noscea, and Coerthas all look completely different to me. Many of there regions look different from the next. Heaven forbid a mountain range actually ranged, or a prarie went on for as far as the eye could see, or a desert area was actually full area. I Find the world exspancive and appealing. I don't mind that a mountain range actually has more the 2 mountains and is actually a range. I have never had my horse fly part an entire mountain range in a matter of second like you do in alot of games on a mount.

it comes from the fact that there are no unique land scapes. once you've Seen 3 tree types, 2 bush types 2 fishing spots and 1 over/under pass in thanalan you've seen them all. same applies to Gridania and la nosca.

there's also no transitional maps at all, Forest to insta desert, desert to insta ocean is just one example.

People always bring up Astral burn parties despite the fact that there isn't even a SMN in FF14 yet. We have to hope that when SMN is implemented in 14 it will have uses aside from "overpowered damage usable every 2 hours" which was the only saving grace of SMN for a long time and the reason it was exploitable for Level Sync'ing in the first place.

Although I really don't think that will be a problem because this team most likely wouldn't do what the FF11 team did... that is, add a job before figuring out what the hell its role in a fight would be.

They're interested in adding a level sync feature, they didn't specify when, however.

Yep, like Elexia said, Level sync is making it's way to FFXIV, I'm asking for it's implementation before ver 2.0 to allow those who would be joining or returning before 2.0 launch will have a larger community to play with.

I don't think they're interested in new players until 2.0.

They are just builing this house taller and taller with a weak foundation.

Creating something this top heavy, it will surely topple over (again).
