The way I read that, out of 10,304 characters, X amount of people have a given job at 50 (which says nothing about which of them are on the same characters), and 32,931 level 50s exist. I'm doing most of this math quickly, so forgive me if I'm wrong.

Out of those 32,931 jobs at fifty across 10,304 characters, 9,485 are DoL or DoH. So that leaves 23,446 level fifty DoW/DoM to be distributed among those 10,304 characters. Now, in the best case scenario, [I]each[i] person with a single level fifty has all jobs at level fifty. In this case, 3349 characters have all jobs at 50. That's 32.606% of characters. Not 90%. And I regret to inform you that there's a much more likely case in which those 23,446 level fifty jobs, rather than being hoarded by less than half of the characters, are being more-or-less evenly distributed, with 2~3 jobs at fifty.

To put that number in perspective, 29,260 Jobs under level 1-10 are recorded by this survey, though it's impossible to sort out DoM/DoW with the information collected. To be safe, I'll say that 3/4 of those jobs are DoL/DoH. That leaves 7,315 jobs 1-10. Each character of these 10,304, then, has a ~70% chance of having a job level 1-10, using my completely made-up 3/4 estimate. If you want to prove that more than 75% of those R1-10 jobs are crafting/gathering jobs, do your own census.

I hope you read this in time--moreso than how many characters have all jobs at 50, I think this debate would benefit from the exact same census he already has, discounting Disciples of the Hand/Land--i.e. I'd like to see the distribution of levels for battle classes. I don't know if that's possible, but seeing if 90% of characters have all 50s or not is useless to this discussion other than boosting some peoples' egos. It would be much more beneficial to be able to say conclusively that "There [are/are not] more than 500 characters available for any 5-level span," etc.

In any case, thank you for asking him. ^^ I'm a psych/criminal justice major, not math. v_v

Got some numbers from Nemi Chan first of all, and they go like this:

10,333 characters, 232 have 18 50s, 1675 have all Battleclasses to 50.

Lindblum has 182
Rabanastre 161
Selbina 149

Then PV responded saying he'd make a new little table to his census... can find that at this link:

I don't really care there have been a few pages since, I said i'd ask and now have.

EDIT: While it shows less people have all 50 battleclasses then I and others would have guessed, in a way it also shows that there is an even spread, within this random sample of OVER TEN THOUSAND PEOPLE, of people with classes at all ranks really. If people are finding it hard to party up with others its certainly not because there is nobody to level up with. Probably, I would speculate, because self-same people are declining invitations or opportuities due to wanting to rank up one job over another.

i.e: "Hmm, I have CON32, and the party there is looking for one... but I want to rank up GLA31 and so won't join today. Oh why Can't I find people to level with??"

Bring on the flaming idc. FFXIV doesn't need level synch any time soon. Shouldn't be introduced at all imo, and if it is, it should be after the level cap is at maximum. Only then will people genuinely start becoming stuck for others to play with. Too many negatives connected to a rediculously failable concept to even attempt to list them all here.

Regardless, if its due for v2.0, its due. Nothing anyone can do about it. Just hope and pray the Development team don't introduce it earlier.

I don't really care there have been a few pages since, I said i'd ask and now have.

id take that site with a grain of salt as far a using it for accurate statistic of players

only players who want to be on there or who have people tracking them use it, there are tons who are not on it at all

granted, alot of people with tons of 50s are on there, but those who dont have much of anything havent bothered at all to even get their character listed at all
