    Honestly I am really afraid that it will be Squadron 2.0 and thus wont stay alive for long. I would be fine if its a mix between both ideas but only if its still simple enough. LoV was way too complicated for a mini game so its not surprising that barely anyone played it. Squadron 2.0 would imo probably be not enough to keep people on it since there is imo nothing fun with doing something with menues. But they could take the gather and training part of it. Kinda like chocobo racing. The higher you train your NPCs the more difficult games we should unlock.

    But let us play part in Blitzball too. Maybe by controlling the NPCs while playing it against other NPCs. Dont make it into another big grind that you need to constantly do to get stuff. It should still only be kinda like a mini game that you normally just play between other stuff and not need to play all the time..

    In the end I am just not really sure if Blitzball will really work in this game and if they should not just put the budget towards other mini games.

    Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
    A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

    You know how to fix Blitzball? Make it so you can cap mendacity quickly with it. People will do it all the time. Look at Eureka people cap there because it can be done quickly. If it doesn't benefit people in anyway people won't do it. You need to put something there which makes people want to do it. Even though this can be seen as a mini-game people are still playing a MMO so they still need to see some form of progression for their character in some way to make it relevant.

    I don't think they should make it at all. I think the dev time would be better spent on literally anything else.

    Just some more videos here. Ultimate Team on Fifa is a very popular feature in the game and would be a good system for a management style game, if they so choose to go that route.

    Personally, I feel if I can't play my own character it would be a waste...


    Management games can be done well, I've enjoyed some of them.
    But, I want to play my own character.



    That said, I agree with the above poster...
    Make it a good, fun game, and it'll support itself.
