Is Graphic Mod against S/E service agreement?

I recently saw few posts on facebook where FF14 players using graphic mods to change their character's in game appearance.
Is this against the service agreement or not?

Technically anything 3rd party is against the EULA, with that said I doubt it's too enforced, after all look at the rampant use of fflogs, bots, timers, etc. Aka don't ask, don't tell situation.

yes, it is against the ToS and can be a bannable offense. I highly suggest not to do that.

yeah the hush dont tell could help you until the STF team catches you since they do investigate on players that cheat, bot or use third party programs in game. we may not see the issues being solved but they do their work, just check the lodestone and how many accounts they ban each week.

All the acc the ban mostly bots tho. They can't ban you with out "Written/Text" in game proof of doing it. graphic mods kinda undetectable ain't cheating since just your screen just as thos who use nude mod (no judge). Hell even Ultimate world first where using 3rd party program.
Now if other do it you shouldn't.
GM as powerless in this game as ever , only reason why they even did something about /undermax was because of us the community telling them to do so. took 4 MONTHS.

Anything used client-side cannot be detected by SE unless you openly talk about it in in-game chat, and someone reports you for it. But even then, it’s based on your own admission. Not because they can tell you’re using 3rd party programs or mods.

To OP: technically, the mods are against the ToS since they modify game elements. However, they only affect client-side, not server-side, so they cannot be outright detected by the STF or any GMs in-game. Only way people know you’re using mods or other 3rd party tools is if you talk about it openly.

Serious raiders have been using the DPS meter addon for years now and guess what? Nobody is banned.

3rd party programs like fflogs or client side only cosmetics aren't enforced, they might be against the EULA but it doesn't mean they will ban you over it. Now if you showed up as a giant lala the size of a dragon and everyone could see this, then you're going to get banned. Exploits like which happened earlier this year were only given a suspension at worst, at best they were given a slap on the wrists and were told they were naughty.

Bots might be enforced more but it still doesn't mean your going to get banned over it, people report bots all the time yet see the same ones in PvP and gathering all the time. Unless you do something really bad like hacking or some such they're not likely to ban you over something trivial.

Most of what I have read about these mods is it only affects the client that person is running. So they may have some cool vids, but to everyone else they look normal in the game.

If you are talking about reshade or using texture mods (which is client side only) I have a very hard time seeing how they could enforce or detect.

Technologically speaking, they can. There are ways to detect tools like that, especially when there are only a handful of known ones. There's a cost to doing that (developer and QA time), privacy implications, and such, and they don't seem to place a lot of priority on it. I mean, parsers are also against the ToS, and YoshiP was watching ultimate streams with parsers prominently displayed. Nothing was done. They operate on a don't ask, don't tell system.
