House changes?

I am sure it has been asked before, but on a basic search it pulls up old posts and stuff from years back. I'm just curious if housing has changed in the way of this: My guild is dead, most players stopped playing or have moved on to more active guilds. As the master of the guild, is it possible to change it from a FC house to a personal house? do i have to vacate and rebuy it? if i do vacate it, if i go to rebuy it, will i have to deal with the RNG for the house or can i upgrade from my small house without waiting for the RNG timer? Thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully answer my questions. Id rather not loose the house/plot as it still means something to me, even if the guild is no longer there.

You cannot convert it, you will have to relinquish it (which loses the house) and buy it again. My suggestion (should you have the gil) is to find a small, cheap filler plot somewhere, then use it to immediately relocate to the relinquished plot. That way you don't have to deal with RNG. i do have a small house that i bought a while back just cus. so if i "upgrade" to the large plot i wont have to deal with the RNG? i have the gil to rebuy the plot, but if you upgrade there is a discount right? if its still full price thats fine too.

You won't be able to convert but since you already own a personal plot you can relocate without problems. Though to buy Shirogane plots your character must have completed that quest to access Kugane. Relocation ignores the RNG timer.

"Plots will be temporarily unavailable for purchase if they are emptied for any of the following reasons:
・Selecting "Relinquish Land" from the Housing menu
・Auto-demolition
・Relocation
・The character that owned the plot is deleted

* During this period, plots will still be available for relocation."

The discount is not great but it's better than nothing.

"When purchasing a plot for relocation, 30% of the minimum value of your old plot will be applied towards the price of the new one."

ok, thanks for the answer! sadly the house is not in Kugane as they will never have enough houses there lol. but at least now i have some options for what to do after i close the guild.

Nope, no RNG if you relocate, so that's the way to go - you can relinquish and then immediately buy. You do get a discount, but it's only, like, 30% of the lowest price of the plot you're locating from, so if it's a small that's only like... 300k off or so. It's something, at least.

I've done this many times. Fastest, best way to convert your dead FC home to a personal (after you've cleared out all FC credits on items/seeds etc): stand in front of your FC house, serf demolish it, then click placard and then buy, relocate your personal house to it. Done.

Just throwing this out there, but unless you specifically want to join a different FC, you might want to leave it as an FC house as you'll have access to airships, submarines and the workshop crafted items. Personal houses cannot have these.

Of course you could also just purchase a small house for your FC as well and get those features as size doesn't matter for housing and the workshop. Just mentioning this anyway.

This is a good point, if you're not planning on going to another FC. If you are, of course, it won't work, although you might be able to get an alt into the FC and turn it over to them so you can use your own FC perks (depending on how full/active/accessible your new FC is).
