Controller or Keyboard?

Currently I use a keyboard and recently changed my movement to legacy. I noticed that moving back and right/left is still backpedaling, though I don't seem to have that problem with a controller. Would it be more advantageous to move to using a controller and relearn how to play or is keyboard better or are they about the same?

With legacy enabled, strafe and turn behave differently when holding down the back button. You probably want to rebind turn to A and D.

What you're doing I reproduce by holding down S and E or Q

edited: Do you have keybinds for strafe left/right set under systems > keybind? not sure what you mean, if so. I defiantly move left or right (or back) as quickly as I move forward

Yeah strafe left and right are my A and D keys. When I hold down S (down) I run towards the camera. When I hold S + A/D my character backpedals.

Use what feels most natural to you. IMO there really isn’t a difference if you’re good with Key/Mouse or PS4 Controller. And with Legacy Mode on, you should be able to run in all directions regardless of where your camera is facing. ^_^

Are you using lock on? Moving back is always back peddling when your locked onto a target even in legacy.. Might be easier if you turn it off.

I've never used it anyway as it messes the camera to much specially on some of the bigger bosses

You mean where it locks the camera to the target? I am not using that. I can upload a .gif of what it looks like in like 4 hours. Maybe I am just doing it wrong.

I use mouse and keyboard because that’s what feels ,ore natural and easy to me. If you want to use controller there’s nothing wrong with that either. Just go for whatever feels the best to you. As far as ,ovine back, right, amc left, I just hold down right mouse button and swivel around quickly or go right/left that way. I never use the strafe buttons on the keyboard. Also yeah, I have anything related to auto target or lock on disabled because that causes nothing but problems.

keyboard and mouse is infinitely better for top tier pvp, more macros on those big hotbars and even more macros on an mmo mouse's side buttons, plus ps4 has to tab target and that is awful
