Could new players get an opportunity to select their clothing colour? Would allow for a little more initial customisation when you don’t get proper access to dyes immediately.

I'm kind of surprised that scars aren't a universal option like face paint is.

Folk like the Miqo'te and Xaela Au Ra who live the tribal life out in the wilds would logically get pretty scuffed up from having to contend with wild beasts and/or each other on a regular basis.

there are like 4 identical hair styles with the only difference being bobby pin colors

fem elezen and roe proportions are a bit weird and it would be nice if we can fix them .___.

They already do have some hairstyles that are either unique or not-universally-available. And there are other races that also have ‘colour variants’ of a chosen style.

The entire problem with the character creator presently, is that it evolved from V1.0's

The game engine is capable of more (see FFXV) but the more complexity you let it do, the less you get. That's why you can make 100 different sliders for the face, but the shape of the head never changes (even the shape of the jaw never moves that much), so all gear still fits.

When you start adding sliders for customizing the length or girth of things like ears, horns, hair, arms, legs, gear will start looking wrong, and thus we get less of it. It would not be out of the question to make race-specific gear if we wanted that additional customization, but I think more people would rather ALL gear be available for all races, and genders, and not have the limitations of other MMO's that lock gear to race/gender/job.

What I'd like to see is some body "girth" type of slider to at least make characters more lean, muscular, or more fat, because that's one of the bizarre things about characters in FFXIV. Everyone is super-fit, except for male Roe's and Lalafells. Male Roe's just look bulky, while lalafells lack any body definition at all (both male and female lalafells may as well be the same body model.)

Glowing eyes for Dark Knight, similar to the one time in the lv50 Dark Knight quest. That just looked awesome. Make it optional and active only during Darkside if necessary.

I'm sure there are other class-specific customization ideas too, nothing wrong with classes having defining features.

Also, give Hrothgar a better hairstyle system.
I know it would take a lot of work and probably won't happen til at least the next expansion at the very earliest, but I just want to put it out there. :B

I'm necrothreading this thread to ask for some of the hairstyles we already have in game to be made usable by Viera.
