Though I am with you on this topic, as far as reporting the groups, I'm fairly certain you would have to put in an in-game trouble ticket in order to get in touch with a GM. I do agree that healers shouldn't be forced to DPS as that is not their primary function but the community, as a whole, expects the healer to do damage as well.
As far as the elitests go, I would say that you just haven't found your ideal group yet. There's always going to be those people with high expectations and filtering through those people is just part of finding your group. I guess just keep pugging until you do find your team. Sorry I don't have too much good advice, but keep your chin up mate, it'll all work out in the long run.
This has nothing to do with being toxic.
The members of the static can decide on their own if they want you as a team mate or not. If they think your playstyle doesnt match theirs, then it is their right to tell you sorry.
And to be honest, if you have less than 200 dps, your actions are probably useless a lot of the time. People dont need 100% HP all the time, they also dont need to be healed if the incoming damage won't kill them. Of course this takes a lot of experience because you have to anticipate the mechanics of the fight. This means you are either (over)healing way too much or you simply stay around and do nothing, while the others try to get the Hp of the boss to 0. Oh and just to make sure, I'm not telling you to get a 100 parse and dealing 3k damage, but you could at least try to contribute more to the fight.
Also saying "I can solo heal fight xyz" isn't really an argument, because the static you applied for propably had a second healer.

Solid troll topic, gotta say I would have bitten if I didn't take a look at your FFLogs page first.
Because of content and kit design, it's very much possible for healers to have extraordinarily low APM rates if they focus entirely on healing. This also means that the ability to maintain party health is at a very low bar compared to other MMOs and so the metrics to determine a good healer are different and primarily focus around how much DPS a healer can contribute while performing your primary duty in the party.
A high DPS healer that is able to maintain party health usually means several things:
- They understand the fight well enough to know when it is safe to DPS and when it's necessary to output heavy healing
- They understand their kit well enough to know what tools to use at which instances and not run out of MP in the process
- (In 8-man situations) They understand their partner's kit and style well enough to know when to heal and when to DPS based on their actions
With the way healing potencies are in this game, it's very much possible to top your entire party off extremely rapidly and generate a ton of overheal which is extremely inefficient use of GCDs. Combine that with how scripted the game encounters are and it's very possible to have 20-30% APM dedicated to healing tools and still be able to successfully heal the content.
There are two things I suggest in your situation:
- Adapt and learn to start to weave DPS into your playstyle. No one needs a 99th percentile healer DPS but having the additional DPS available allows for progression groups to clear hurdles faster.
- Find a group that uses a main healer / off healer style and take that main healer role. You'll still be requested to DPS but you can probably push more HPS than DPS and let your partner do more DPS for the two of you in turn.
Take into account that option #2 is the non-optimal way to play but it's also easier to manage and probably fits your style more. My statics doesn't explicitly play like #2 but my healing partner certainly enjoys the healing burden which leaves me many more GCDs to spend spamming Stone IV / Broil II on the target and it makes them happy so perhaps you can find a group that does the same.
[edit] Also, dunno if troll bait and don't care if troll bait either at this point~ I figure even if it's a troll post someone who has a legitimate but similar concern may read this and find my blurb above useful. Happy raiding~

When you wipe at 1% and the healer is at 0dps on the parser ... dps not my job is not going to be an acceptable excuse no matter what group your in.
Honestly, I'd say that the goal of healers when they are healing at a savage level is the following:
a) Make sure everyone stays alive.
b) DPS when you are able to.
c) Minimize overhealing.
On regular content, just a) suffices for a healer. However, when you are trying to beat a boss and you are enraging at 1%, those other two points become a lot more important. Sure, you can solo heal a fight, but you have two healers in a party - effectively using each person's cooldowns is imperative to good optimized play. You don't even need super optimized.
Yes, Yoshi-P did say that they do not take into account healer DPS when designing a fight. However, unless the DPS and Tanks are both at 90+ percentile, you won't be beating a boss' enrage without the healers helping.
Good eye. Current tier savage tank with multiple clears of o8s, for anyone who doesn't want to look him up. Little to nothing on healers, so while he could be new to that role, this isn't someone who has never seen savage before.

The thing, OP, is that as far as endgame is concerned, healers are expected to follow the rule of ABC (Always Be Casting). A lot of players, myself included as I have only pugged savage content up to this point, believe that healers do need to be able to BOTH heal and DPS to be effective. It isn't necessarily elitist to expect a healer to do over 200dps. Every bit of DPS counts as the enrage timer is very tight in Savage content. Obviously, healing is your top priority, but if there's no immediate need to heal, then yes, you are expected to DPS in most groups, static or no. On top of that, if you were trying to get into a static, they're giving you a chance to see if you are a good fit for them. As long as they aren't harassing you, then it's not toxic.
Think about it this way - they could've just dropped you without telling you.
OP didn't care enough to hide his logs, I don't care enough to resize this image...
