    More "Active" Healing Class

    Hello everyone. ^^


    I would like to see SE implement a more "active" healing class than what XI had. If you've watched the opening video, do you notice how that lalafell runs up and throws up a shield around a character? I think things like that would be so much nicer than simply standing at max distance and throwing off heals. Not that I want to see a "healing" class capable of tanking with its shielding abilities, but I'd like to see some abilities that make a mage class that can actually get into their job. I was a WHM for years in XI and one of the things I hated the most was how removed I felt from everything--especially endgame content where I was required to stay outside the alliance until drops fell. I would love to see them add content that actually draws a mage class into the heart of the battle, or at least requires more involvement than standing back and hitting F-keys and macros. Maybe this could be a separate job from the typical "White Mage"--an entire job dedicated to preventative abilities. It would certainly be interesting if a skillful player was able to throw up wards every time a mob started to charge a move. Obviously these couldn't be failsafe (or a very skilled player could easily be overpowered in a normally-hard fight), and should only last a short time (again, like the shield in the opening video). Or, they could just be some moves for the regular healing class.

    Thoughts? Suggestions?
