    Future Events

The dragon and airship in Mor Dhona, in future events will it ever be explained who the dragon is and why it was attacked the Empire warship?

I only ask because it doesn't seem to be talked about at all, even when we head to the area for the crystals, the dragon and ship are never mentioned.

If it's not going to be explained in-game, could we get info on it now before it's forgotten by 2.0?

    You know, this thing?

Im sure we could easily encounter an elder 'friendly' beastman who witnessed the event and "Echo" will answer these questions.

I am sure, but right now, we are dealing more with the moon hitting us. The Empire doesn't seem concerned with the dragon that had easily toppled one of their warships anymore. We seem to be moving away from one topic to another.

If we are dropping one storyline for another with explaining something things like this dragon, can it's original intentions be explained on what it was going to be used for?

I have a feeling that dragon is either: Bahamut, or Shinryu. (The latter seems more likely)
Based on the opening scene, the dragon realeased the Primals and probably many other beings.
And, if this Shinryu is anything like the dissidia one, my other theory is that once all the Primals' are defeated, the will return to Shinryu.
After the satellite, Dalamond, crashes and lands on the Black Shroud, Shinryu will work his magic and resurrect all the citizens into a new life, in 2.0. This won't just be a resurrection though, our bodies will change and morph into another form. (This could be the reasoning behind why our characters changed.)

Huh, I was thinking more in the direction of post apocalypse via Kefka.

Okay...good thoughts. But here take this in for thought...

The minstrel giving us the Goobbue said some fascinating things. "A single-horned beast leading a flock of chocobos from a burning forest." The Satrap nation's secret...and now in our hands..."With this horn, may you lead us from despair, and help usher in a new age. "

The single-horn of that beast...which is the horn we now possess...a power to lead out of this coming storm.

The bards will sing continuously till the new era ushers in. Mayhaps this horn do more then summon a Goobbue...PRAY IT SUMMONS A CELESTIAL MY LIL PONYCORN!!!!

There are also considerations to the subtle warriors of light references...for all we know the echo could be the power to travel back in time...another dimension...far into the future.

We still have yet to get the story on the 12 guardians...which SE mentioned that they were working to tie into the coming events.

Yoshida said things...formations...will be appearing in the game and to look forward to them.

The appearance of the beast tribes...the alarm amongst mortal men...we see our spies staking out beast tribes in wait for war. To the west the Ishgard soldiers are protecting us from dragons. To the east the encroaching empire. In the shroud the wood wailer's prepare to make their attack. In Ul'dah those with the echo including our path companions may well risk their lives with their special powers. And we still have the elementals stirring uneasily.

The concept art shows us Odin...Odin brings about the norse mythology of the Yggdrasil...the deaspected crystals...perhaps once full of energy being absorbed by the planet springs forth the Yggdrasil...which ushers in Odin.

The whole a meteor hits and we live on into the next generation doesn't fit. Since ruins just don't pop out of Gridania and the world doesn't altar the way the conceptual art does unless we either go back in time or a dimensional collision of some sort.

Exactly, we have all this stuff going on. I was wondering if later down the road, if they will explain it in-game ok, I can wait.

But if the story isn't going to explain it during the events of the 7th Umbral Era, can we be told what it was going to originally used for before it is removed by 2.0?

See this is rather upsetting. No one seems interest in this dragon anymore.

I am, but I doubt that they are going to use it for anything. . .

Yoshida mentioned somewhere that the original main storyline would continue in 2.0 once the 7th Umbral Era storyline had run its course. Although honestly, I have no idea how that will work. Sure, all of the original main storyline quests are going to be reworked, since they are throwing out the "one storyline for battle classes, crafters, and gatherers" concept (thank God). But all of the environments are going to be different, so they are REALLY going to have to alter the main story missions to make it work.

Maybe the Mor Dhona dragon will stay in 2.0? I don't know. I will say this, though: I find it really odd that no NPC in the game now ever seems to talk about it. I mean, it's a mammoth, freaky-looking dragon corpse wrapped around the remains of a giant crashed airship. You'd THINK it would come up in conversation every now and then.
