Obtaining HW + ARR Beast Tribe mounts with corresponding tribe currency

I've noticed the HW and ARR beast tribe mounts can only be obtained by buying them from the beast tribe vendor at 200K gil and 120K gil respectively.

Given that SB beast tribe mounts are attainable using beast tribe tokens, can we hope to see a price adjustment that will allow us to obtain the HW and ARR mounts using tokens instead in future?

Hopefully not - the game has little gil-sinks as is... no need to take away the few and honestly cheap ones there are.

I know that must sound harsh to someone whos probably not into crafting/gathering/making gil and considers 200k a large amount of gil, but we really need more ways to spend that money and take it out of the game, not less.

I like this idea simply from the standpoint that it seems odd to do all that work saving/working with the tribe only to have them thank us by giving us the option to spend a large chunk of gil. I was happy to see the route they took with the SB beast tribes. I do see the point in what Vidu said as well and it might be nice to have something that simply eats gil. I suppose it's hard to balance something that's desirable and consumes enough gil available, while not alienating anyone that may have issues generating that much in an acceptable time span.

Believe during a Q&A a few months back Yoshi-P said he'd look into making that happen or something to that effect.

"But muh gil sink," says the person who stares at the marketboard for 18 hours a day and has more money than God. Buying beast tribe mounts with gil isn't even a gil sink as that kind of money pretty much falls from the sky just by doing quests and dungeons. An actual gil sink would be having in-game vendors that sell the things people buy off the marketboard four hundreds of thousands or more.

Not only is your assesment of money sink like 120 % wrong (you need money sinks in mmos BECAUSE there is money falling from sky in the first place), your assesment that you have to be no lifing to have this opinion.

Since I agree with the statment that we need more gil-sinks and not less, I'll ignore the slight insulted there and not take that personal

Yes, at this point in the games life cycle the beast tribe mounts arent a real gil-sink for most people anymore because gil is so easy to come by and gets thrown at you from every direction. Which is excatly why we need more gil-sinks and not less.
Do you know why certain items go for millions on the marketboard? Not only because they're rare or difficult to craft, but also because gil is - thanks to inflation - so extremly worthless that those items need to be worth millions. Which in turn means that the average person wont be able to afford them for a while since they wont have enough money.

...and in order to bring everything down to more reasonable prices, we need (huge) gil-sinks.
Personally I dont consider taking any gil-sinks (beast-tribe mounts, relic items, teleports, housing...) out of the game a step in the right direction. You seem to agree with "gil-sinks are needed" - and yes, the beast tribe ones arent massive and only a drop in the ocean, but why is your fazit to remove them completly then instead of increase them (maybe not by increasing the price of our current mounts but rather by introducing new ones, probably re-colours that are selling for several millions).

I won't say we won't need another money sink (runaway inflation made things ridiculous in WoW), but this.. really isn't a good gil sink. Teleports, repairs, market board taxes and housing are much better examples of sinks; They drain money from players easier than a time consuming mount from an expansion ago. I'm sure i've spent at least 2-3 mounts worth of gil on teleports at least.

Even without getting into high end crafting/gathering or just forgoing it entirely can get someone the money needed for a dire wolf mount because the money falls from the sky just by doing regular content and if you really want to make more, spam level 70 dungeons or queue up for whatever the adventurer in need bonus is for materia.

Like I said, an actually meaningful gil sink would be adding a vendor that sells high end items which would actually take money out of the game instead of just moving it to different hands of those who already have more than they could ever spend.

Half hour of savage progression even with FC buff to gear durability can set me back almost 3k which doing it long enough really adds up never mind teleporting for quests and gathering.
