    Dark Arts Idea

    Dark Arts doesn't end apon execution of a skill requiring it to trigger its additional effect. Dark arts will only end once its 10 second duration is up. This will allow dark passenger to be used in our single target rotation also. Also less double weaving. Thoughts?

    Would need to be balanced by tripling its no cost (making it almost unusable when under about30% no or at low levels) and or giving it a cool down of at least 10s.

    I agree. It would be broken. Maybe the mp cost could just be double, like 4800. It would end the Dark Arts spam. I don't know if this would make Dark Mind just amazing or overpowered though...

    A lot of the time DA just doesn't seem useful, or it's mandatory due to bonus effects.

    I'd say it either needs to need the potency boosts and be used solely for it's utility (bonus HP leech or dark mind boost, etc)

    Or it needs to be used solely for potency boosting, making it's bonus effects part of the regular skills (AB always leeches MP) and stick it on a cool down or increase its no cost.

    I've seen people suggest things like DA only being consumed by weaponskills, or making DA be stackable(like aetherflow).

    Would stackable be any better? Wouldn't that just function like lillies that you manually generate?

    Would it not make more sense to make Dark Arts a 'stance'? While in DA stance skills with DA effects cost MP (or more MP if they already cost MP) instead of TP. Not like we need to do any TP management anyway.

    I think it can be done, and MP costs on skills using DA would need to be adjusted in order to balance so we are not churning out any more skills within our MP threshold currently. When you think about it, if balanced correctly nothing would really change with the DRK's performance at all. We are already boosting all the applicable skills with DA until nearly out of MP. It's just eliminates the damn spam.

    As for Dark Mind, they could change the DA bonus to a Darkside+Grit bonus if you want the full 30% mitigation since it would no longer be MP dependent on DA.

    However they want to work it; it can be done and I believe needs to be even if only for a QoL change for DRK.

    Thinking about it further. If DA is a set duration, movement could result in a DPS loss than currently since we can choose when to boost a skill. Perhaps reworking it to provide stacks like aetherflow might be an option, but would be another resource to manage. Hmmm. I still say it can be done, somehow.
