    Steam Wallet payment denied by Mog Station, credit card payment locked out with i2501

    I attempted to make a one-time payment with Steam Wallet through Mog Station to renew my Entry subscription, but I received an error message without an error code saying the function wasn't available.

    I spoke with chat support this morning and they recommended that I pay with credit card for the time being, but when I attempted to pay with that I was greeted with an i2501 error code.

    Contact with my bank confirms that there are no issues with the card in question, and I have enough balance in my Steam Wallet (plus there are no issues when logging into Steam).

    Any help here? I understand that several people have been having issues with Steam Wallet payment.

    The i2501 error is an error that is triggered by the system to protect accounts. Many actions can trigger this error such as a slow internet connection, the use of an odd connection (EG: schools or cafes), a possible virus detected on the device, the use of a VPN, many rapid attempts of payment at once, along with many other actions. Please check to see if any of the listed actions apply to the situation or anything that can be related. We also suggest resetting the connection you are using to connect to the internet.

    *We are aware of some players having similar issues with Steam Wallet. We are working on getting this issue resolved. Can you please contact the support center directly, so we can collect the necessary account information to assist in escalating this issue.

    To reach our live chat support please follow the steps below.

    1. Visit the SQUARE ENIX Support Center at http://support.na.square-enix.com/
    2. Select FINAL FANTASY XIV as the game title.
    3. on the next screen click on "Contact".
    4. You will then need to select a category and sub category from the drop down menus.
    5. Next, type a basic description of your inquiry in the "Contact details" section and click "Next".
    6. on the following page click "Next" again. Ignoring any Knowledge Base Suggestions that may apply.
    7. Provided your contact is during SQUARE ENIX Support Center's hours of operation, you should see a Chat Support option. Click "proceed to chat support" to initiate contact with one of our Chat Support Representatives.

    I have contacted the support center directly again and they have escalated the issue, and I was told to wait until Sunday to try making a payment again, which I will do so.

    Hope you guys can get Steam Wallet payments set up again!

    We have gotten word that the issue is being taken care of. Unfortunately we have no ETA on the fix, but be assured it is being worked on.
