All mounts should be able to fly

As the title says I feel that all mounts should be able to fly. Now before you get your panties in a bunch let me explain my reasons I feel this way.

The first reason is due to how swimming was implemented. Since swimming just copy & pasted flying it is locking some mounts from being used that should be able to such as the Elbst and Enbarr.

Second non-flying mounts are next to useless once you start to fly. Right now we have no reason to use many mounts 12 areas because flying is much faster. This is stopping many from using their favorite mounts for the sake of convenience.

Lastly and this is more of a counter to some responses I know are coming. Many are going to say that it doesn't make since for many mounts to fly, BUT we have many mounts that have no reason to fly already such as warsteeds, the t-rex, the tiger, tank mounts, and the elephant. Why is it OK for these to fly and not the others?

I know this will most likely never happen but i just wanted to throw it out there and see how others feel.

I think so too. All fly and swim. They already broke a realism barrier making turtle, elephant, bear etc fly. So that is not an issue. Of the remaining ARR mounts, most can just run on the air like the bear does with no additional effects necessary. Can then remove the flying mount roulette button since the normal mount roulette would work the same.

To be fair, the elephant only flies because it's wearing magic carpet.

Agreed with the others you mentioned though and let's not forget flying chocobos and korpokkur and freaking floating plesiosaur.

Please let us use the old mounts again!

Well Flying Chocobo is normal, Black Chocobo was the original Flying mount from Final Fantasy In general... We did a quest to make other Chocobo fly tho lol

That's one thing that cracks me up with the Fat Chocobo, swapping the Gysahl herb for a piece of cake makes them fly out of excitement, lmao!

Agreed. The flying chair and elephant remove any reason for other mounts to not fly at this point. It's just a nuisance to have a handful that don't.

I'd like to see mounts that shouldn't be able to fly be grounded... the trex just looks silly... the Christmas bear can be explained away as can a few others... but I don't want to see flying behemoths... the ponies should fly... should be case by case... not all new mounts should fly either...

those mounts become useless then, because after getting the currents you pretty much never need to be on the ground again.
i'd be ok with it if we could use ground mounts in all cities, though.

Make everything able to fly, make everything able to swim. The lore is already shattered in the name of goofiness for FFXIV anyway.

One thing that'd be nice that could help resolve the immersion issue, though I've no idea how hard it'd be to implement, is an option to view others' Mounts - regardless of which they're using - as a generic Chocobo. I'd use it all the time. Beyond the ridiculousness of certain Mounts, many of them are also so large (here's looking at you, Yol) that they obnoxiously clutter my screen and egregiously clip through everything in sight. Please, let me just overlay them with a standard chocobo if I want to.
