Alt + Tab / clicking another window freezes game

I have two screens and I would say at least 50% of the time I go to respond on Facebook or look on a site for an item I'm trying to find, whatever it may be, the game freezes and I have to wait until it comes back or disconnects me. It's really annoying.

I am using borderless window mode (which I doubt makes a difference as far as the bug is concerned) and my computer runs your bench mark at nearly 10,000 and switches scenes at around 25 seconds. Definitely not my computer.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Can you explain what exactly happens when you alt-tab out? You said it freezes but do you mean a crash or is the game just unresponsive? About how ling does it take to return to normal (if at all)?

Does the same thing happen in windowed mode?

When did this start happening? Did anything change/update on your PC that coincides with this?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

I haven't seen it in any other mode besides borderless windowed. It can take anywhere from 2 seconds to probably upwards of 60 seconds (which it usually crashed if that happens). The game is frozen and unresponsive, usually the second I click a different window. I don't think anything has updated since that started. There was one time that the sound cut out for no reason, but that's an isolated incident in itself.
