    Packet drops and high jitter

I have completed the steps in the pinned post including IE settings, port forwarding, and whitelisting FFXIV in both my anti-virus and Windows Firewall. Primarily occurs during prime time. Seems to drop packets more frequent in instances than in the outside world. ISP is Comcast.

    Tracert:

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

When exactly did this start happening? Did anything change/update on your computer that coincides with this?

How often does this effect the game and does it result in disconnection errors?

Can you list everything you've done so far to alleviate the issue? Also, do you have a wired or wireless connection?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

It began happening early to mid-March most fervently and, since then, I began trying different VPN/Tunneling services to see if that was the cause. Nothing of note changed with my hardware/software around the time of this issue. As stated in the original post, it is most problematic during primetime and in instances. Outside of primetime (4AM-5PM EST) still has mild jitter with little packet loss. I have not had any disconnection errors relating to this issue. I am on a wireless connection using a standalone modem (ARRIS SURFboard) and router (Asus Onhub).

Hello Gouka_Mekkyaku Thank you for your response,

Your issue sounds like issue being discussed here http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...NA-Data-Center. We have posted recent updates there regarding this issue. At this time there is not "a fix" We are suggesting contacting your isp to report the packet loss. You can also keep a eye on the thread above for updates as we will post them there as we receive them.

Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XIV! Hope to see you online
