Yeah I mean if they where outright spamming and being obnoxious that is a different issue, but hard to see if the OP is just being overboard or if it is a real issue. In an ideal world, GM's saying just blacklist the person would mean it is not a big deal and nothing they can do, did the TC fully explain why the GMs should of looked at it? there is a lot of missing information for us to draw a proper conclusion for us to offer something really meaningful.

Oh boy, so many times I tried my max to find how yo blacklist ppl from eureka, it's hell. The Spam is real. Please, add blacklist option!

But if you're in an instanced area, doesn't that ignore the blacklisting, allowing you to read their shouts anyway? (Even if you BL them outisde of said instance) Asking out of ignorance because I really don't remember.

It does, which is why if they want to allow instances like this they need to change their system to allow blacklisting or give GMs power to ban on sight like every other game in the civilized world. Players shouldn't have to instance hop or completely shut down their shout chat, which is pretty essential in eureka, because 1 person wants to start something and SE cant do something that's over 2 decades old already or because they are too scared to exert any authority over people who are trolling.

Usually doesn't take long to look at a chat log and see a player has been spamming disruptive messages so should be removed. Would imagine GMs have tools that allow that to be accomplished in about 2 minutes.

The only people who would see it as tyranny are those who are spamming the disruptive messages. Honestly, tough for them. It gets tiresome dealing with "but I should be able to do what I want without consequence" crowd. There are always consequences in life for the things we choose to do. If you use common sense and choose smart in the first place, you have nothing to worry about.

As for fairness, it is fair. We all agree to a code of conduct when we press Agree to the Terms of Service. You agree that SE can take action against your account if in their opinion you've violated what's in the ToS. If you don't want to follow other people's rules, don't go into their houses. When you're playing FFXIV, you're in SE's house.

Maybe, but it sure beats all the silent dungeon runs I've been doing for years... Then again, in some ways, so does Eureka, which is hilarious since the ones that make the chat the most interesting are the ones standing around inside Eureka complaining about Eureka and saying they'd rather be grinding a dungeon. XD
