Eureka shout/yell, the barrens chat of XIV. It's....unbearable

Maybe, but it sure beats all the silent dungeon runs I've been doing for years... Then again, in some ways, so does Eureka, which is hilarious since the ones that make the chat the most interesting are the ones standing around inside Eureka complaining about Eureka and saying they'd rather be grinding a dungeon. XD

Lol, I am not sure about the forums but I submitted ingame suggestions about letting us have social options inside duty finder like blacklist, kick or leave the NN, etc.

Though I do not think GMs can do anything with people voicing their opinion, i mean it is pretty much truth anyway.

If it bothers you that much, filter out shouts or leave the instance for a diff one?

or am i supposed to reply with "first world problems so this issue does not matter"? I am a bit confused what is considered socially acceptable on these forums to begin with.

sometimes I can ignore the drama, but like earlier when I realized I missed several chats through an LS and the FC channels because of the walls upon walls of texts from the shouts, yells, and emotes spams, I was forced to filter my tabs. it's so annoying to navigate through senseless chat when looking for people to invite or to check which direction the train is planning to head. blacklist would be useful at times like that, but on average I like how the chat channels are alive with conversation.

Ignore them, they have been crying about eureka since its release. Wouldnt be shocked if we found out it was this poster that was doing it.

I was not aware SE changed things to allow you B-list people in instances, wouldn't that make this thread pointless? I read just find tyvm

Feels like the GMs should be able to do something atleast, kindof a shame someone is ruining the experience of people in content cause they don't like it. It's one thing to voice your opinion, it's another to spam it ingame where noone cares or needs it in shout chat. I hsven't seen such spammer but if it's that bad then yeah. the GM should've done something. No opinion is worth annoying 144 people in an instance.

It does, which is why if they want to allow instances like this they need to change their system to allow blacklisting or give GMs power to ban on sight like every other game in the civilized world. Players shouldn't have to instance hop or completely shut down their shout chat, which is pretty essential in eureka, because 1 person wants to start something and SE cant do something that's over 2 decades old already or because they are too scared to exert any authority over people who are trolling.

Usually doesn't take long to look at a chat log and see a player has been spamming disruptive messages so should be removed. Would imagine GMs have tools that allow that to be accomplished in about 2 minutes.

The only people who would see it as tyranny are those who are spamming the disruptive messages. Honestly, tough for them. It gets tiresome dealing with "but I should be able to do what I want without consequence" crowd. There are always consequences in life for the things we choose to do. If you use common sense and choose smart in the first place, you have nothing to worry about.

As for fairness, it is fair. We all agree to a code of conduct when we press Agree to the Terms of Service. You agree that SE can take action against your account if in their opinion you've violated what's in the ToS. If you don't want to follow other people's rules, don't go into their houses. When you're playing FFXIV, you're in SE's house.
